GREAT News For Henderson.
It is the top story on the side menu of ESPN's NFL scoreboard page. He should be able to rack up a lot of yards against the Giants.

Quote:Rams coach Sean McVay said Monday, "I think so," when asked if RB Darrell Henderson will start Sunday vs. the Giants based on his performance the last two games. "He's doing things that, not surprised, but very pleased. He's a guy that I've always had a tremendous amount of confidence in," McVay said, adding, "The more that he plays and the more he's available, the better he's going to get." Henderson rushed for a career-high 114 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries in a 35-32 loss to the Bills.

RE: GREAT News For Henderson.
I've liked Henderson since I first saw him run the ball as a freshman. I'm not going to say that I picked him to be an instant NFL success, but I thought that he compared well with DeAngelo.

The Rams have opened up their O and now look like the team from two years ago, not the aberration last year. DH has a chance to be formidable.

I can't understand why McVay has taken so long to get him into games. Early last year he ran a 20 yarder and a 12 yarder on consecutive plays and promptly sat him for basically the entire season. Weird. Was he hurt?

When you are struggling, losing games and you are paying a running back huge money, you have to sink or swim with him.

Henderson has an insane burst...even by NFL standards. He looked awesome on Sunday. He has another gear that very few NFL running backs have.

Just stay healthy!

Funny that you say that. I was thinking the opposite. Against any D1 defense he would have had at least three very long runs yesterday and might have broken two of them for long touchdowns. He wasn't being caught, but the defense was in better position, was faster and took good angles on him.

Well, when he was at Memphis, how many times was he facing one NFL-quality defender? Now, he’s facing 11 NFL-quality defenders. I still think that he’s doing great. I hope he can avoid serious injury and have a long career.

Pollard, Gainwell, Henderson always a big play about to happen. We have great RBs now but I am not certain they are big play guys. Or at least I haven't seen it yet. Watkins is a possible.

Gainwell was supposed to be that guy this year. It would benefit Clark to have speedy type guy behind him. We are in good hands.

What’s the scoop with Asa Martin? I had very high hopes for him this year.

Most of the info we had on Asa was his ranking and his potential. 2 games with a month in between is not a fair assessment of who he is and who he can be. Experience is what slows the game down so his talents can be demonstrated.

We will know over time if he can live up to his hype but if you look at Clark from last year to this year it’s like two completely different people. Experience and maturity = growth.

He is doing great. Just pointing out that at Memphis when he broke through the first 15 yards, he was breaking a long one. In the NFL there are still guys back there.

Watkins STILL does too much stutter-stepping. Hasn't learned to run north yet. He's got the speed, but needs to learn how to use it. Some guys struggle with this in D1. Pop was another. It was one thing that set DH, TP, and KG apart. They get north quickly.

Agreed...

He looks like he is searching for a patch of soft grass to land on when nothing is there.

If nothing is there your job is to plow into the defender and get as much as you can.

RE: GREAT News For Henderson.
Clark and Watkins are doing fine, averaging 5.6 and 5.0 yards per carry respectively. The problem is that they are following two incredible running backs. If they were following Curtis Steele, Doroland Dorceus or Brandon Hayes, we would look at them a lot differently. I'm sure we have all been guilty of watching at least a dozen runs in the last two games and thinking that Gainwell or Henderson would have turned those 15 yard runs into 50 yard touchdowns.

Also, both have almost no experience. They might not be Memphis HOF level running backs, but both are very good.

Agreed.

We also had some receivers that executed their downfield responsibilities.
