This will be an interesting game. Our 3 week layoff could bite us in the backside. WKU got the victory Saturday and will be pumped.

When did WKU become the favorite in the game. The line opened up yesterday at -2 for Marshall, within 15 mins it was -5 and within an hour it was -6.5. Wouldn't be surprised by game time if it isn't close to -10.

If our defense comes out and plays like it has in the 1st 2 games then we should have no problems winning this. But as history has shown this is no gimmie on either side and for some reason WKU players always seem more fired up and for some reason play their best game against Marshall.

I think Marshall wins this game but have no idea how it will unfold.

For those in and around WV it will be on ATT SportsNet, 7:30 et. What used to be Root Sports and before that a Fox sports affiliate.

Yeah. Every Stadium game are on some Fox Sports Nets and AT&T Sports Nets along with Marquee, MSG Network, and MASN 2.

Here was the list of channels that had Southern Miss/North Texas and UTSA/UAB on Saturday.

Also, where I live in Lexington KY, if you have Fox Sports Ohio (the regional Fox Sports Affiliate) you can stream it on the Fox Sports Go app.

Gotta say, overall so far in 2020, with all things considering, we've had a good media year.

I think there's been enough data compiled so far to make a case we are all being CRIMINALLY underpaid for our services.

For example, here's an apples to apples comparison.

AAC game on ESPN: 9/26, 3:30p ARMY VS CINCINNATI drew 1.08M
CUSA game on ESPN: 9/5, 1:00p EKU VS MARSHALL drew 980K

That's only a 28,000 viewer difference, yet reportedly the AAC schools receive 8 million per year from ESPN and we get roughly 3% of that 8 million? (ESPN reportedly $200,000 per school for CUSA schools vs reportedly $8,000,000 per school for AAC schools)

Keep in mind that AAC game features Army and a highly ranked Cincinnati (marketz y'all) and the Marshall game was aganst an FCS school.

We need new negotiators.

That's pathetic. And y'all wonder why there are new rumblings on realignment?

Why would you say that? For the most part all CUSA games shown on espn(pick a channel) were at the bottom or very close to it in viewers. Same goes for Marshall/App that could be the lowest viewed college football game in CBS's history. Just like espn, CBS has a build in number for viewers that just leaves their TV on the channel...only larger than espn because its a free network. A average to lower bottom P5 would probably bring in 3+ million.

UCF vs GT on ABC had 3 million viewers and that was the only real competition for Marshall vs App. That game had a +1 while Marshall had a -77%

Maybe you can explain what I'm missing that would make someone think CUSA is bringing in big TV viewers?

As for the Marshall/Western game, if last years Western defense shows up...10 of 11 starters are playing this year. I can see this being a close game. Anything over 21 points I think Western loses because this offense will struggle to put 21+ points up, every game.

This is a good discussion, and yes I can provide some more detail. You mentioned the UCF vs Georgia Tech game. I can argue that 3 million viewer number had much, much more to do with Georgia Tech than UCF.

The following week on ABC, 9/26 at Noon, the UCF VS ECU game "only" drew 998K.

The 1.25 milly viewers Marshall vs App State on CBS garnered was pretty good in comparison the week prior.

I think your statement on the Marshall vs App State game being the lowest rated CBS game ever is a bit much. Theres simply nothing to compare it against. When was the last time two non power conference schools took that spotlight? And no, the Army vs Navy game doesn't count. That's a separate class all on its own.

What we need our negotiators and commissioner to do is to use this season to impress espn. We need some good ratings and we need to kiss butt so that we can get a new and better contract with espn. Whether we like espn or not is not important. We need some additional income and a lot of additional exposure which we are getting this year due to the odd circumstances.

You barely got by an MTSU team that could possibly go winless by 3 points. Tyrrell Pigrome looks like hot garbage, seriously he looks like Isaiah Green without some of the athleticism Green had.

And I don't see anyone holding us under 21 again this year and well even being held to 17 we still won by 10. WKU doesn't have the talent that Appy has, and we made their so called veteran lines look silly.

If our OL and DL don't have to warm up playing on Sat, this game should be over at halftime.

You caught playing Marshall at the right time.

We should be riding fat and happy after that big win on national TV. Then with a 2-week layover, they've probably had too many people telling them how amazing they all are. So if they come into this week thinking they can just roll up unprepared and get the w, they can absolutely lose this game.

Classic trap game.

However, I think Doc, if there's one thing he can do, is get a team prepared on a long layover. So while I'm admitting that an egg laying performance from Marshall can happen, I don't think it will.

Our offensive line is so good. They should roll Western, I think we'll win by double digits.
