That, or how many households have only one wage earner? I find it really aggravating when people take to social media complaining that JMU is "only in it for the money". Yeah. There are thousands of people that don't have a job if JMU isn't open. While I don't work at JMU, I know many who do. It is an economic engine for this region. JMU is in the business of providing students with a great education; without customers they have no business, and that puts thousands of educators and workers out of a job. This region depends on JMU (and other colleges and universities) to be open.

Yeah - it's tough all around right now. The other side of the argument - I'm in Richmond or Washington trying to finance my kid through college while losing my job, or taking a huge pay cut, and JMU is charging me for Room and Board while my kid is not there, and taking virtual classes. And obviously as you pointed out on the other side JMU is trying to sustain the university as well as possible.

Just tough times.....

It's hard for me not to be understanding of everyone's frustrations, and where they are coming from.

Really more hurt people than bad guys right now....

Hate to hear that...the COVID effect is really taking its toll. Hopefully the furloughs are not permanent for long.

Good thing she has a Daddy who loves her and will support her!04-cheers
