If people doubt UH's #7 rank in the CNBC list, then surely they must
also doubt UH's #1 on The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur’s list of
Top 50 Best Undergrad Programs for Entrepreneurs in 2020 (No. 1 in
2008, 2010, 2011 and 2020)

https://www.bauer.uh.edu/wce/

Seems those two ranking are related.

My point was more I would credit the CITY OF HOUSTON more than the UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON for being #7 on CNBC's list.

Again with Houston #7 on CNBC list I think has a lot to do with location. I know many making some absolute bank in and around the Houston area because oil happens to be there. Houston also is well know for great starting salary's for young graduates in general (outside of the oil industry). Also, a good city to start a business IMO as well.

I'm not doubting them #7 for colleges that payoff the most. I just think that is very misleading in Houston's case.

Don't doubt the entrepreneur thing either. That is single program within the college of business. Every school has their share of great programs.

You alluded to the CNBC list being better that the US News Rankings which I do also agree with in general, but GTFOUTTA here as the #7 public university in the nation. The average ACT to get in is a 24.

Example:
#7 on CNBC list University of Houston
#8 on CNBC list Cal Berkeley

2 people, but lets they are the exact person (ethnicity, gender, gpa, degree, experience, etc.) both applying to their first job after graduating in say London.

If the only difference in the person's life was 4 years at Houston or Berkeley, 100% of the time the Berkeley route is getting the job over Houston.

1st) UH is mainly SAT not ACT, those that took the ACT the only average i found was 26, not 24 (from 2019-2020)..

i dont agree with that last statement to the extent you are saying..

people bank too much on usnews as a judge for UH...not realizing UH is ONLY poor in USNEWS because of graduation rates (a significantly high factor in their rankings, UH is historically horrific at).. people dont realize how powerful and influential UH is..almost every ranking that is based on accomplishments and academic prowess UH is ranked extremely high..
UH is ranked 87th in the US arwu rankings.. a 4 year low, we were ranked 55 in 2016

their methodology isnt based around "how worth while is it for the student" like usnews but what is "the value of the degree and the academic capabilities/accomplishment"
http://www.shanghairanking.com/ARWU-Meth...-2019.html
UH is already a ranked a carnegie melon tier 1 university .and the school is targeting aau membership by 2023-24 (pre-covid projections)

and to your final point.. no one is in denial..berkeley is higher than UH but i dont agree with your "100%" ..outside of teas and Louisiana it might be 100%.. but in texas and Louisiana youd be surprised how many pick UH before Berkeley especial those tied to certain organizations and degrees within UH, especially anything related to oil and gas

and yes the city plays into it, the same way new york plays into nyu..but its not just the city..the entrepreneur program for example is elite because the select few accepted into the program get mentored by millionaires and billionaires, most arent even in houston...the program actually ends with a week of mentor-ship with warren buffet in his ranch in Nebraska (yearly for the seniors)

RE: 2021 US News College Rankings
No one is inferring that UH is #1 academically but UH's #7 rank in the
CNBC ranking is probably correct.

Of course the city has a lot to do with UH's rank in the CNBC ranking.
Location has a lot to do with ranking of all other universities on
the CNBC ranking. Stanford, Harvard, U. Chicago are certainly aided
by their locations.

Location has a lot to do with UH's #1 in the Princeton ranking just as
#2 Babson College is helped by being in Wellesley, Massachusetts. If
UH was located in a small town it would not be on any ranking.

UH should not be discredited unless other universities are also.
Rice University has an entrepreneur program and had a lot more time
and money to build it than UH. It ranks only #16 among privates.
A&M is located about 60 miles from Houston and also has a school in
northwest Houston. It has many graduates in the city. It is not on
either ranking. Then, there is UT with over $30 billion endowment and
located in what is now a high-tech city. It is not on the CNBC ranking
and is #14 on the Princeton ranking.

About those graduates.
More than 3,500 UH alumni head their own company or are presidents
or CEOs. http://www.uh.edu/presidents-report/2012/
If a graduate from some school moves to Houston for a job chances are good his/her boss will be a UH grad.

UH is #83 on the UK Times list of World's top 100 universities for
producing millionaires.
https://www.timeshighereducation.com/new...49.article
Tulane is #86 on that list.

UH rising to #1 in the Princeton and #7 in the CNBC ranking is not by
accident. UH bought 70 acres and created a research park. It is now
practicing as an business incubator. It has wealth among its alumni
and its endowment is rising rapidly. UH is becoming a wealthy university.

Yes, the city helps UH immensely but UH efforts are raising it rapidly.
People should expect UH to maintain its ranks by CNBC, Princeton,
and the UK Times. There will be more.

Has anyone ever noticed that the Three Amigos and Galaxy Quest are the exact same story?

Yes, and to a lesser extent Tropic Thunder has similarities as well. The backdrops are just different— Western, Space and Vietnam

Oddly enough, all very entertaining and underrated movies too.
