Brett McMurphy reported he heard the conference will either all play or all sit out.

If it ever came to pass that UM and MSU didn’t play and the rest of the conference did... oh my. Not to pile in the politics, but Trump will tweet-blame our governor daily (even though she has no say in it). Michigan’s a huge battleground state.

Regardless of Trump, your governor is something else. Days in office appeared numbered from MI people I have heard from.

Whitmer has a 59% approval rating (38% disapprove) as of September 9th. Up 15 points since January.

MAC considering 8 game schedule starting in February. Could be brisk in Huskie Stadium.

Or make it like state high school championships, play four games in Ford Field starting at 8:00 AM.

Big 10 Fall Football
If the season starts in February, could the MAC could strike deals with Ford Field, Lucas Oil Stadium, etc to play indoor games? Seems like you'd get more fans to attend, especially if you were able to see multiple games in one day.

If you believe that, I've got some real good swamp land in Louisiana that has no oil and gas that I will sell you.

Pig10 seems to be playing now? Season kicking off late October. Any chance the MAC follows suit? (I know answer is no, sucks)

RE: Big 10 Fall Football
It would be worth playing this fall if the MAC could get some paycheck games but those don't seem to be available. It seems likely the MAC will wait until spring to see if the cost of testing drops by then. Finances are going to be a real problem. I could see some MAC schools declining to play even in spring.

Edit: Just saw the statement from the MAC office, spring it is.

RE: Big 10 Fall Football
The longer this goes the more it seems about the money and less about players health for the MAC. So what changes for the MAC by playing in the spring? If the conference doesn’t have the money to play now then where is the money coming from in the spring? The MAC is the worst FBS conference and should use this time away from the field to contemplate a move down to FCS... The Sun Belt, CUSA, and service academies can all play now but the MAC is focusing on an eight game midweek spring schedule? Pretty bush league in my opinion.

RE: Big 10 Fall Football
Assuming the MAC plays an abbreviated spring schedule, how will that impact season ticketholders who carried their 2020 season tickets and benefits to 2021? Do we have to use them for the shortened spring schedule or can they be carried over to the full fall schedule? Lots of questions need to be answered. Personally, I will not sit outside in February or March. That's nuts. And, if the games are played indoors somewhere, that will require travel. If I have a choice, I will use my carryover season tickets and benefits in the fall.

RE: Big 10 Fall Football
What has changed in the past 2 months since Big10 canx their football?

Nothing has changed in the real world. Big10 expectations have changed. Big10 though they would be the leaders and every other conference would follow them into perdition. Big10 was wrong. Big10 (and MAC) players and fans get to sit around on Saturdays and watch the other conferences play FOOTBALL. Recruiting should be easy this season without any competition from the Big10.
Any players jump ship! Or in the land of the free are they not allowed!

Same polling group that had Hillary up by 7% in Michigan late October 2016.

Money, money, money is reason. University presidents crapped themselves now they realize that SEC and ACC are passing them by. MAC can not afford the cost of testing and other health measures.

I'm confused as to why the MAC can't afford the testing/protocols but the Sunbelt and Conference USA can.

Which "G5" conferences are still out? Just us and Mountain West? Thanks god we're not alone in all of this. ******* running the conference, go all in like everyone else, bow out with everyone else if it goes badly.

It would be worth it to play. Testing can't be that much, especially if a "money game" could be scheduled.
