A small price to pay so that Louisville politicians can appear righteous.

It’s always a small price when it’s other people’s money.

The politicians want to look good and the attorneys realize its a lottery. They could win or they could lose huge.

This works out to about $15.42 for every person in Louisville.

Would like to see how that money is spent. Be interesting to see if the boyfriend who got her killed gets a cut.

Kenneth Walker has his own lawsuit filed against the city.

RE: City of Louisville settling with Breona Taylor Parents
Municipalities have no balls in these cases. They settled to try and quell unrest, but as someone who has handled Wrongdul Death lawsuits for 24 years they always jump the gun and overpay. These civil cases always get stayed until the criminal case is resolved. Throw out a fair offer and hold firm. The plaintiff will eventually come back and take your money before or during the civil trial, particularly as evidence comes out the weakens your liability, proximate cause and/or damages case.
Superfly mentioned the Cincinnati case a few posts up. Every single defense attorney and even some plaintiff attorneys I know shakes their head at how much and how quickly they settled that case. Hamilton County jurors are stingy— I’ve seen them give A+ plaintiff’s (meaning good people) a couple million but rarely have we ever seen anything about that involving a WF with minimal economics. Sam Dubose was a POS. He had over 75 arrests, 13 kids with 8 different mothers and he never paid a dime in child support to any of them. When the first criminal trial ended in a mistrial the family would have taken any offer you had on the table at that point.

You racist are really proud of your ignorance. What racist news network told you her boyfriend was a person of interest. Her current boyfriend has nothing to do with nothing. Her EX-boyfriend was already in jail when the CROOKED POlice showed up to plant drugs and kill her.

RE: City of Louisville settling with Breona Taylor Parents
Kenneth Walker had absolutely nothing to do with the situation Breonna had been involved in with her ex. He did what any man would do. He defended his home. (Kenny worked for me at the factory I was plant manager at when I retired. In the two years he worked for me, I never heard the man say a bad word to anyone.)
The area they lived in was not a bad neighborhood. The apartments they lived in, on the other hand, were home to a few drug dealers. (That’s not uncommon here in Louisville. They shutdown the projects and did scattered site housing that caused this to happen across the city. Except of course in the affluent areas.)
I did not know Breonna but I do know she wasn’t an EMT when she was tragically shot. She was working as an Emergency Room Tech at a local hospital.
I agree Breonna should never have been killed. I don’t believe there is anything that connected her to her ex boyfriend except a former relationship.
Where I differ from the protesters is I see what happened as a tragic accident. I don’t believe it was racially motivated attack like the national media tries to make it out to be. That 12 million dollars her Momma got won’t bring her back.
Breonna’s death has brought about change.
1. It’s ended no knock warrants in the city and it’s inspired legislation to stop them in the state.
2. Police here are now required to have EMS on site whenever a warrant is served.
3. All police actions must be signed off by a senior officer.
At first glance I thought 12 million was too much but then I think how much is one of my daughters or sons lives worth.

One of the things that has not come out in the national media but is beginning to break locally. Breonna was killed by a bullet from Kenny’s weapon, not by a police officer. This will probably come out in the next few days.

Where will it "come out in the next few days"?

That makes zero sense. She was shot 5 times while still in the bedroom. Walker's gone was missing only one bullet from the magazine which fits his claim he fired one time and that is the bullet that allegedly struck the officer.

There is tons connecting her to her ex. Dead bodies, lots of packages moving in and out of her place, his claims that she held and laundered drug money. She bailed him out on more than one occasion and visited him 2 dozen times in the pen. The warrant was for her apartment because they expected to find drugs and money. But you probably don't see that in the local media which wants to play up the innocent victim.
And it WASN'T a no knock warrant. Nobody involved says it was. The dispute is whether the police identified themselves before the firing started.

It was a no Knock warrant, the police however knocked before using the battering ram to enter the apartment. There are very few details about her relationship with her ex boyfriend her in the media.
