So, do any of these players have symptoms?

Seriously, though, it'd be nice if these reporters would ask the question.

If they are asymptomatic, they probably aren’t contagious, and frankly, they should be allowed to play.

Around 30% of patients who tested positive for the new coronavirus were asymptomatic, but they still carried just as much of the virus as symptomatic patients—and for nearly as long—according to a new study that experts say provides the first scientific evidence of asymptomatic transmission of the pathogen

Can't wait to see the data on that, but do you notice that when discussing asymptomatic transmission, it's always about how much of the virus they carry and never about them actually being traced as having infected anyone?

I don’t even care if the asymptomatic can spread it or not. Just tell us the truth and we can make our own decisions.

I haven't dug though what the right wing commentator has said but I don't see where Fauci said asymptomatic don't spread. If 95% don't show symptoms, how many people would have had to have? 200k deaths plus how many hospitalizations plus how many got sick. That doesn't seem possible.

And if you didn't believe asymptomatic patients are capable of spreading, you would have to at least consider the possibility. At this point it is pretty clear that they can spread, its possible they don't spread as efficiently (no coughing/sneezing). And if there were some doubt, there is no way you can let players that tested positive play.

Not only do they run the risk of spreading to coaching, refs, staff, etc., they also have increased risk due to the effect COVID has on the heart and the dangers of playing with an enlarged heart.

So with all that information. Is the basketball season going to be canceled as well?

I wonder if UVA and WF had agreed to still play in Norfolk if we would have still canceled? And if not, would the games actually have kicked off. Guess we will never know. Meanwhile Charlotte vs App St is on ESPN2 right now. Go 49ers

Michael Jackson's Thriller? I didn't know pregame dances were a thing.

Haha It looked more like a frog in a frying pan trying to jump out. ESPN posted a video on Facebook of the dance

Isn't that the beauty of this country, though, that we're supposed to be free to drink whatever Kool-Aid we want (I prefer gold, but that's neither here nor there). Unfortunately, we have a number of politicians (including our Governor) who refuse to allow me to have the choice to make decisions for myself, and we have a whole team of people who insist on forcing their beliefs upon others.

But, to keep it on topic, I wonder how many teams that played over the weekend now regret it. I'm guessing the number isn't that high.

RE: What if????
I love the fact that as soon as a game is canceled people jump on here saying "I told ya so!" and "ODU clearly made the right decision not to take part in this shitshow!" like people in favor of playing thought we were going to go through the entire season with no hiccups. I would say so far things have been a success, but we are basically 1 week in, so we will just have to wait a few weeks to see how this all ultimately plays out.

Good point, but I still say what a cluster and Its not worth it... Success is very subjective. No right answer..
