Alright. I'm trying to grasp your point in the last paragraph. You say you aren't trying to stop the cases that are resident in asymptomatic carriers because ...? Surely not because their cases aren't as potent or are "less toxic" than someone that has fully visible/measurable symptoms, as it appears you infer in the last sentence?

Just making sure I haven't misunderstood your intent. I'd love to see some research where it has been verified that asymptomatic carriers are hauling around a lesser strain of this sh!t.

As for wanting to practice common sense health prevention, what do you think the masks and the 6 ft and the other stuff is for? It would truly be lovely if EVERYONE were to practice this, but it isn't happening. How many times have you seen a co-worker in the office snorting and sneezing and hacking up a hairball and saying it's just allergies or just a sniffle? How many times have you felt a little "under the weather" but went in to work anyway? What should be the "common sense health prevention" practice in this event - and how many times has anyone followed it?

Just my two-cents worth....

Tater Tot is an idiot who reigns over a state with one of the highest Covid death rates in the nation, if not the highest. In Missippi, the virus is raging out of control.

Wrong.

There is a difference with being presented with a pop-quiz and failing and having the test before you take it and failing.

Test positive, then still positive after one week, still positive after two weeks, still positive after 3 weeks with no symptoms counts as 4 cases of covid. The entire process is criminally dishonest.

More tests do not lead to more cases, the cases were already there and you didn't know about them. Though I will agree that the stat is misleading. We need more testing, but what needs to be released is the percentage of change in positive cases so you can see if things are trending up relative to the population.

I don’t know if it’s released on a state level but in Memphis it is released on a weekly level for Shelby county. You have to scroll down a ways, but there is a weekly average positivity percentage trend graph.

lol
It's the latest attempt to try to defend Cuomo's inadequacy in NY - when he put 6,000+ infected patients in nursing homes and killed thousands of the residents.
It was a pop quiz for Cuomo. He didn't know that infected people mixing with senior citizens was wrong.

To put the numbers into perspective...

NEW YORK AND ITS BORDERS
Covid-19 statistics which include New York and all states and provinces on its boundaries. Comprised of the states of New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, and the provinces of Quebec and Ontario

- 76 million population
- 82,000 deaths
- 9% of total world covid-19 deaths
- 360,000 square mile territory (600 X 600)
- 9.8 million square miles, USA
- 4.7 million square miles 80% of Canada's population
- New York State and its boundaries represent 2% of all Canada and US land
- New York State and its boundaries represent 40% of all covid-19 deaths in Canada and US

Not only that, Cuomo is trying to hide the fact that he has personally killed thousands by making a change to how covid deaths are recorded. Now, if you are in a nursing home or elderly care facility with covid and you spend 1 hour outside this facility and die, it is now not recorded as a nursing home, elderly care unit death.

BUT, Cuomo calling his handling of the virus "beautiful," and Democrats allowing rapist Clinton to speak at their convention is ok.

I agree that the media typically presents the wrong stats. They grab the total cumulative cases, and that has very little meaning at this point.
The data is there, they are just lazy. I study it regularly.

As for "more testing", I just don't know. According to some, the US has totally failed at handling this thing. Yet we already test more than anyone. BY FAR. We have tested 84 million people. The next closest country is India. With 4x the population, they have tested 42 million people (half what we have). There are only 7 countries on the planet who have tested a higher ratio of their population than we have, and none of them have a population higher than 10 million. Many European countries that the media benchmarks have stopped testing unless your symptoms become so bad that you have to enter the hospital. We are the undisputed world leaders in testing.

Yet some say we aren't doing enough. So, either, there are other agendas at play when people criticize US responses. Or, testing does not really help combat this thing like we think.

In theory, you are right, but the reality is that additional testing results in a multiplier of an already faulty recording method.

Each positive test results in 1 positive case. So if the same person is tested once a week over a 4 week period (or more, or less), each time they test positive, that is counted as 1 case. So, in my example, you have 1 person counting as 4 cases. For sure, many test positive 1 time and then negative after that, but also for sure, many test positive more than 1 time.
