Tulsa @ #_ OSU
MY LINE: USU 42-27 IMO, I don't think Tulsa is ready to pull the upset off.
Tulane @ USA ESPN2
MY LINE: Tulane 30-28 USA looked ok against USM last week but I think Tulane is a little better than USM. I won't be surprised if USA wins though.
Its a tough call with 2020 being that year.

I’ll be watching that Tulane vs USA game with intrigue. Either Southern Miss has spiralled back into the shadow realm or Southern Alabama figured out how to play functional football (maybe both?)
But the Jags looked big and angry against a really sad USM. I’ll be interested to see what they look like versus Tulane. That might be a fun one.

Jags have a couple of advantages, the first physical/ mechanical and the second mental/emotional: (1.) they’ve already played a game and we haven’t; (2.) this is their first-ever game at their new stadium. Those 2 things combined are significant, IMHO.
That said, I really believe there is a talent disparity in Tulane’s favor, which will count for more than that.

Both your points are valid, and I agree with you, I’ll be stunned if they beat you. However prior to last night I would have expected a Tulane favored blowout and now I’m expecting a ballgame.
Selfishly I’d like to see them do well, it’d help bolster the Sun Belt some more. Our other basement dweller Texas State looked somewhat competent last night. It was a nice change.
What are the expectations for Tulane this season?

Same. Also taking a lot of these early games with a grain of salt. Everyone is at varying levels of readiness. Hell, with player availability issues, the whole season will have some interesting wrinkles.
Either way, I'm also interested to see how Tulane compares to USM with a common opponent.

USM are down like 10 players and that roster is about to go through a mutiny very shortly. It's hard to judge USA based on that game. The did win it, however - so they're not a pushover.
Tulane is -11 on the road, which makes USA a spooky home dog.
Tulane should go about 6-5 or 7-4 on their current schedule. The talent is there to compete with everyone.

Everything in the Sun Belt is spooky.
(6-5/7-4) sounds quite similar to last year for you all. Where you would basically lose every game you are supposed to and win every game you are supposed to. You always seem to have a tough schedule.

USF wins
USU wins but not by much
USA wins by at least 2 TD's
NOT A GOOD WEEK FOR THE AAC

Tulane had a bunch of full contact practices with a stable coaching staff. We should be prepared, but this season is janky and underdogs are going to come out hot early.
Preseason, I had USA as the gimme putt followed by two tricky games. I think there is a very real shot at winning the two "rival" games after dropping this one.
Either we win or lose this game big.
