Exclamation Football is currently under the 12 foot regulation
https://gotigersgo.com/news/2020/8/20/me...model.aspx

Quote:MEMPHIS -- In order to adhere to Shelby County Health Department directives, the University of Memphis football home opener on September 5 against Arkansas State will have several health and safety directives in place, including all ticket accounts separated by 12 feet in all directions.

Only fans who elected to donate the value of their season tickets may be eligible to receive single-game, socially distanced tickets to this game. As indicated previously, those tickets will be allocated based on TSF giving level and priority points. Fans who will have access to this game will receive an email from TigerTickets@memphis.edu next week with seat assignments and parking information. Verification of season ticket holder selections in the 12-foot scenario will be sent prior to ticket distribution.

Detailed information relative to digital ticketing, stadium regulations, concessions, parking and more will be released Monday. Updates on the 2020 season can also be found at http://www.KeepMemphisRoaring.com.

RE: Football is currently under the 12 foot regulation
So, what does it take to be 6-ft or 12-ft?

What will it take to be 6-ft?

It's entirely up to the Shelby County Health Department. They set up "trip wires" that trigger the 12 foot rule. Here's what has to happen to go back to 6.

- New cases over a 1-week period averaging less than 75 per day based upon date of testing
- Continued downward trend line for 2 consecutive weeks
- Rate of new cases decreasing by >= 30% per week over 4 consecutive weeks
- Reproductive Rate <= 1.0
- Positivity Rate <= 5%

Quote:Outdoor sporting events that involve the likelihood that visitors will engage in increased vocalization, such as yelling, cheering, singing, or speaking loudly, must be separated at least 12 feet apart and must wear face coverings consistent with the Face Mask Directive. Family units/groups of up to six people may sit together, but no member of one group can be within 12 feet of any member of another group.

We'd do better having all of them removed from their positions that waiting until those guidelines are met.

This is the most positive news I can find about it all. It remains to be seen how much of a spike we'll see when SCS start meeting in person.

THANKS for the info!!! I live out of town, but, I want to try to attend one of the games. Being I'm out of town, I never read or heard how the 6ft/12ft rule worked. So, now I know when to expect the 6ft to be in place and possible go back to normal this season.

According to a Daily Memphian article, the Health Department plans to revisit it with Health Directive 11, due out by next week at the latest.

I had hoped that by Houston Sept 19 we would be to 6 feet but when you read those tripwires looks like it's going to take a vaccine to get there.

A new normal

I remember being able to smoke at work
And have a bunch of alcohol drinks at lunch

RE: Football is currently under the 12 foot regulation
Question - if masks work, and we’re required to wear masks during the game to help prevent the spread, then why does it matter that we’re 12 feet apart when yelling? I’ve never understood that logic.

“Masks” prevent droplets from spreading. So you’re telling me if I yell in a mask, the droplet magically disperses 11ft 11in (which I thought masks were the ultimate preventative and impenetrable), but if I just breathe in a mask it’s contained? It took some really intelligent docs to come up with this backward logic...

It’s supposed to be masks at 6 feet that work... Not masks OR 6 feet... The 12ft is made up by Shelby County and not backed by research.

IKE's familiar with 6 in and 12 fortunately for Ike she prefers the 12 in
IKE's pretty sure she'll be o.k. with 12 feet , something about 12
Ike will be there still concerned about the pronto pups, he prefers 2 6 in. Pups

That is the exact same thing a friend of mine said earlier this year.
Unfortunately he’s been on a vent for the past 10 days.

so ****ing sick of all this...

CYA baby

BTW, what if someone sits 10.5 feet away from their friend, spouse, or whomever...will there be someone to police all this? Are they going to hire seat distance counters in all these venues? Whose responsible for all of that?

901FC matches at AutoZone have strict attendance policies (such as wearing masks while seated) and they have increased staff to police it.

But according to a friend who's been to a match there, the fans are mostly compliant and polite because they're adults.

Not children like some.

Those who get tickets will be assigned seats that keep the 12' spacing. Those who purchased their season tickets together will be assigned seats together, but their group will be spaced 12' from others.

And, only those who had already bought season tickets will be eligible to get one of the 4500 tickets.
