I think in the long run it is the best. There's little benefit in playing in front of a stadium that can only hold a 1/3rd or whatever number fans are allowed in. How do you pick and chose which fans that have season tickets can and can't come to the game? Is it a lottery? Do they send an email and say "people in these seats can come to this game. The rest stay home." It's just a logistic and political nightmare.

Take my money and apply it towards next season and I'll just tack on some next year to help refill the coffers.

Shutting down the fall was going to happen, it was just a matter of when and who was going to make the decision. If ODU didn't make it, it would have been made for them at some point in the fall season when contact tracing will take out a roster.

Agreed. If we can't safely have a season with no restrictions on capacity then there is really no point in doing it. Wait until the spring when conditions are hopefully better.

I was so looking forward to this football season. Best Home Schedule ever, seven games, plus a new HC.

It is a good decision for the School. Way to many unknowns. and this Covid is for real...

It was never happening anyways. At least we got some practice in. Did anyone really think there was any chance of a football season this fall?

Maybe. But that could backfire too. I like the approach of looking like your ready to do anything to play. That we are that tough and committed and ready to win. Then when CUSA cancels, just blame it on them and say “well, we wanted to play”. I wonder if the conference actually is going to play and forced Woods hand to cancel independently. If the whole G5 plays successfully except the MAC, UConn and ODU... that will be embarrassing.

Best decision. It seems like there will be some schools that are determined to try to play this fall. I will be surprised if it doesn't turn into a complete cluster by the middle of October.

If that happens, y'all will finally get rid of me. I assume the conference is cancelling or this decision wouldn't have been made.

I feel bad for the kids. If anyone plays, the NCAA needs to allow for immediate transfers with no sitting out or penalty.

MLB can do it safely. Their rules are ridiculous. The sport might be more socially distancing than golf.
