FAU and DUKE Health have done research in the effectiveness of different types of face masks.

Hint... not all work, and some are worst than not wearing one at all.

Top 2... N95 and Surgical grade masks, in that order.

Ehh.. dont leave out that most of those same studies found regular, dual-layer cotton masks to be effective as well.

True, there are 3 or that are "effective", but those 2 are the most effective.

There are many links referring to these studies... I just did not want to use the ones that I saw due to reporters personal opinions... Couldn't find 2 with just the facts.

My goal was to point out the top 2 options in hope that folks have access to them.

KN95 masks are the Chinese version of the N95. Unfortunately, buyer beware because it is difficult to determine quality even by the reputation of the seller and it does not act as a substitute for social distancing. Still, the KN95's I bought have five layers and fit snugly.

one of the goals of WABT is to analyze the effect of biotechnologies—like genetic engineering—on humanity.

In his new book, this world-class scientist does exactly that.  And what he says is that the China Virus definitely wasn’t a freak of nature that happened to cross the species barrier from bat to man.  It was genetically engineered in the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s P4 (high-containment) lab in a program supervised by the Chinese military.

That's funny, but I will say that it's ironic how so many ppl 'hate govt' but invest so much of their time and self-worth nowadays into a their political party of choice.

Many Republicans hate govt but still continue voting for the same ppl that give you gridlock and refuse to compromise. Many Democrats hate the govt...but want to continue expand gov't role in all matters.

Govt 'sucks' not b/c the system flawed, but primarily b/c we the ppl keep electing ppl who have no mandate to get things done.

If govt like corporations were 'ppl' it would hate voters who keep giving it a bad name.

Although not peer reviewed yet, studies recently released find immunity to CV-19 is strong and long lasting to those recovered from CV-19 inflection.

Both parties don't compromise. The latest Stimulus package is a perfect example. Dems won't go below 3 trillion deal they want, and Reps wont go above 1.2 Trillion they want. As for me I pray that neither group moves and we spend nothing. I think Trump was the vote against the status quo, He was pretty much hated by both sides.

Despite some new hotspots due to schools reopening. Overall, cases are trending down. Down about 20% over the last three weeks.

Pfizer's press release on the status on one of their vaccines. It's an mRNA vaccine that encodes the entire SARS CoV 2 spike. (There's another candidate that only encodes receptor binding domain and looks like they're not going to pursue that one.) There was a good antibody response and also T-cell response with this vaccine. The T-cell response is really important. Good responses even in the elderly -- with a booster. It's in Phase 3 trials and they've enrolled and dosed 11,000 people so far on the way to 30,000. They hope to get regulatory review ---- with enough infections in the placebo group to reach valid conclusions --- sometime in October. Link 03-cloud9

Don't these type vaccines literally change the body's RNA - permanently? If so, not sure it will be well received by many.

No, its mRNA that codes for the part of the virus (probably the most conserved part) that is used to enter our cells. The S spike - which sits on the outside. That nRNA is taken up by your cell and begins producing that *piece* of the virus. Since it's not a whole working virus - your body can begin the immune response without risk of covid-19. This is how your body handles any antigen. It reads and recognizes the antigen and begins producing antibodies and T and B cells. That's what happens here with the MRNA vaccine.

This is probably good news. A sequence of 30000 SarsCoV2 genomes from various countries over a couple of months revealed mutations in the virus that make it *more contagious but less likely to lead to severe disease.* In other words, because it's more contagious it may allow this mutation to out-compete other more virulent strains of the virus.

Her cell memory should have created the antibodies a lot faster the second time. My understanding, vaccines would be the same.
