Robert Morris University and the University of Hawaii football teams have reached an agreement to meet on Sept. 26 at Aloha Stadium. RMU essentially replaces New York-based Fordham, which bowed out from its Sept. 12 game against UH over concerns about traveling during the pandemic.

TCU and UNLV have agreed to open the season during Week 0 on August 29th. TCU opener vs California was canceled. UNLV Week 0 opener vs California was canceled.

There was talk of TCU and Alabama. I guess Alabama switched to BYU instead of TCU.

TCU becomes the historic visitors to open Allegiant Stadium.

LA Tech/UNLV still on the week after -- the final game at Sam Boyd.

Why didn't TCU want to play Alabama in Arlington?

Sweaty P has been on the trend downwards for a minute now.. He wants an easy win with his young team.

If a football team doesn't play this year, they shouldn't get any of this season's CFP payout.

Louisiana Tech will host Houston Baptist at Joe Aillet Stadium in Ruston, La., on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020. Louisiana Tech was previously scheduled to host the Prairie View A&M Panthers on Sept. 19, 2020, but the game was canceled when the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) postponed their football season to Spring 2021 due to the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Similarly, Houston Baptist was previously scheduled to travel to take on the Texas Southern Tigers, also a member of the SWAC, on Sept. 19.

I saw that BYU has 6 games canceled since they are independent. Tough to be indy right now, other than Notre Dame.

I think CFB will be played. If so, it is going to be bizarro that some teams, those that play on August 29, will play a full 28 days before SEC and PAC teams swing in to action.

You're going to see SEC teams like Alabama and LSU ranked in the AP poll for several weeks with 0-0 records.

Just take the winner of the SEC’s preseason coach’s poll, as well as the runner up, and let them play. Winner goes to the playoff and will finish 3-0.

Big 12 members can only make 9 games in-conference, round robin, without playing someone twice. They would each still need an OOC to get to 10 like the other P5's

Seems like a waste of effort, doing all this rescheduling. By week 3 1/3 of teams will be under quarantine anyways.

Word is that the ADs cannot come to an agreement whether to do the 9 plus 1 model or all 12 games.. nothing in the middle, smh. Bowlsby, not helping once again, shocking I know 03-bored

I know ou needs that opener to happen the last weekend of August since it's the big PPV game it has every season. Maybe they need to have an additional game to make sure the opener stays on PPV? That's the only thing that I can think of as of why they just don't green light the 9 plus 1 model.

Which is why I think (as a Texas fan), they should move up the opener to the Aug 29th weekend (week 0). Pay UTSA to come to Austin, cancel or reschedule the USF game and move up the week 3 UTEP game to week 2.

Now you have two weeks between UTSA and UTEP. Then you will have an additional 2 weeks before kicking off conference play in Manhattan.

Big 12 Presidents meet Monday to determine the season. I still anticipate TCU playing UNLV 8/29. Don't know about other non conference games.

An article in today’s Houston Chronicle is speculating the Big 12 will announce 9 + 1 format.

This article

9+1 is favored. Schools are all over the map. Many want to start early rather than delay. I think "get it done and go home by Thanksgiving" is the sentiment. The article notes that the Big12 lacks urgency and focus of the other P5 conferences.
