Purdue Replacement possibilities
Syracuse, Iowa State, and Virginia Tech all lost games on September 12th due to the Big10 going to a Conference only schedule ..... wonder if we could replace the Purdue game with one of these teams ?

No way Virginia Tech will schedule us Fuente doesn't have that long of a leash and a potential loss to his former team would not look good.

Too much travel for any of those. If we add any non-con games, they will likely be regional with the ability to drive if needed (budget).

Don't we charter flights...

If we do, I dont see an increased risk between a chartered plane or a chartered bus.

Now if the goal is to reduce expenses due to less revenue this excuse would make sense.

Ole Miss hosts SEMO that weekend ..... MS State plays at NC State .... All of the SEC schools still have games scheduled on that weekend as of right now .... Of course things could definitely, and probably will change ....

Totally budget related

ACC and/or SEC could very well go conference games only, so NCSU and MSU likely won't happen.

Before this is over, the whole schedule will be up in the air. Our San Antonio game is likely gone. AAC may add a conference game or 2 to everyone.

Who knows. It is ridiculous that college football schedules games so far into the future to start with. Now, those contracts are going to be punted.

UAB's game against Alabama A&M on 9/12 has been postponed.
Western Kentucky's 9/12 game vs. Indiana has been cancelled.
Iowa State's 9/12 game vs. Iowa has been cancelled.
Texas Tech's 9/12 game vs. Alabama State has been postponed.

UAB vs Alabama doesn't make sense to postpone unless it is a buy game.

No need to pay a team to come to your stadium if you aren't going to recoup the money via ticket sales.

I see ESPN finding a way.

They are trapped between their ideology and their balance sheet.

They will fold until the election. The guys upstairs are calling the shots.

There are several articles out about the SWAC cancelling fall sports. Alabama A&M & Alabama State are both in the SWAC. ESPNU listed those 2 games as "PPD", not "cancelled".

I'd rather have Iowa State or Texas Tech come here (since I'm a season ticket holder), but wouldn't be opposed to playing at WKU if we have to travel, as I have a family member at WKU. I would not want to go to Legion Field, though.

Aren't there some conference teams we don't play? Why not just round out the schedule with conference teams?

If we are not taking a loss on every game I agree...

If we are losing more money on every game because we cant sell tickets...I say just play the scheduled conference games and call it a day.
