Athletes are a subset of entertainers.

They can do as and say as they please (as long as it follows 'the narrative')

See: Drew Brees vs. DeShawn Jackson

What is this right to free speech you speak of? It no longer exists in this country unless it fits the mainstream liberal media's definition of 'correct'. If Drew Brees had said the same things Jackson had said he would no longer be employed and you damn well know it.

There's a storm brewing and to tell you the truth it's long past time for a reckoning.

Jesus Christ dude. Do you know what freedom of speech is?

It means Drew Brees, or anyone else, is protected from arrest for what he says (within very very broad reason).

Nobody took Brees' right to say what he did away.

Are you really that blind. Anyone with anything to lose will be ruined by the cancel culture bs. You WILL agree and you WILL comply or you will lose everything you have. Even silence is dangerous these days.

Every athlete will be forced to kneel during the National Anthem at all sporting events whether they want to or not or they will be done.

Watch and see. Dissenting opinions or even 'not being sure' will not be tolerated.

Yep, the guy who respectfully kneeled during the national anthem suffered no consequences at all and his freedom of speech was not abridged.

It wont hurt folks to see that they can manage life without the mighty expensive distraction that sports has become. Too much emphasis and money / resources are allocated to entertainment anyway.

It's entertaining, but I prefer to not consider it "entertainment", but rather supporting my school and the student-athletes, particularly the ones I know personally.

Respectfully keeled? Hahaha hahaha,

Go do your homework and look at Colon Kapitalist's stated reason for kneeling.

"I will not stand in respect......'

He didn't 'find his principles' until AFTER he was washed up and had lost his starting job in the NFL.

He is so very transparent. He's 1/2 white, adopted and raised by white parents, grew up in a nice home, got paid millions to play football, and when that was pretty much over he has figured out how to make even more money being a 'martyr' Lolololololol by becoming a a Marxist and shitting on our Country.

Thank you for this link. As I said Kapernick took a knee respectfully after he came to realize that sitting wasn't the best way to express his concern and disappointment in the state of racial relations in this country.

Many people are just incapable of understanding why people use their constitutionally guaranteed right to speak (show) there disagreement with policies or practices which are unacceptable. For example calling for people to lose their lively hoods for exercising their rights, or firing them for that exercise.

Be grateful you live in the United States and strive to make it better for all of her people.

Our right to speak doesn’t prevent consequences. I have the constitutional right to walk right up to the head of my organization and call him an idiot to his face, but I guarantee that won’t end well for me. I’d get Kap’ped right out of the building...

The issue I have is that it's occurring during the presentation of the flag and the playing of the national anthem - not to mention 'during work hours'. Other than that - have at it.

10 -15 unarmed black people are killed in a calendar year by Police throughout the country. Most of those turn out to be justified.

As an example, more blacks kill each other than that many weekends in Chicago. 1 city - 1 weekend > entire year.

The vast, vast majority of all Police are good hardworking underpaid people and just look at how they are being treated and talked about. No one is defending them.

A politically agendized movement based largely on false premises is tearing the country apart.

When all the police quit, they will rue the day they decided to wage war on the police. As will we all. I never could understand the premise behind the original movie Mad Max. Where were all these outlaws getting the nerve to do the things they did? Now I'm beginning to see the real possibility of that kind of dystopia coming to fruition.

RE: Football Season Workarounds
I was looking to see what NFL teams are doing about suites (confined space with a bunch of people you know) and club seats (confined space with more people you don't know). The Broncos are actually pausing their club seats contract for the year... So everything just shifts back a year. Same with the Eagles... The whole thing just shifts back a year (so people don't lose their standing).

https://www.denverpost.com/2020/07/15/br...ronavirus/
https://sports.yahoo.com/eagles-allowing...34896.html

Eagles:
Quote:"We understand that, even with safety measures in place, you may have concerns about attending games in person. As such, we would like to offer you the option to defer your Season Tickets for the 2020 season. If you choose this option, we will pause your account for 2020 and resume your account in 2021 with the same seat locations you would have had in 2020. If applicable, your SBL and any other ticket or club seat license agreement will remain in effect and you will resume season ticket purchases in 2021."
