Powerful message from John Cunningham, in the last minute of his video he admits we are on precipice: If you don’t want UC athletics to be left behind you’d better give.

Was he deliberately trying to appear as a man with a gun held to his crotch under the desk? Yikes.

His demeanor is miles apart from Mike Bohn who is the guy who talks so loud he doesn’t need a microphone.

That being said, I appreciate him giving the straight dope that some schools will be left behind and some will move forward. That message should have been blasted on every TV station, radio and billboard for the past 8 years.

He seemed like a guy who just figured out something really incredible....yet something everyone on this board has known since not long after the Big East split.

Can't say he is exactly making me feel confident he's the guy to navigate UC through this. He needs to be on his hands and knees begging for a Lindner stipend.

Well we have to HAVE athletics first for them to succeed.

Nobody's going to donate anything if they keep cancelling everything while hiding from the boogeyman.

He is obviously weak on the sales pitch. Hopefully they have or will hire an assistant AD who can sell ice to an Eskimo.

I hate to be negative but the guy did a monotone performance reading poorly from the teleprompter. Not a good time to be getting your feet wet as an AD of a university trying to act like a P5.

Then they should have hired that guy to be the AD instead.

Right, normally the young guys with unusual qualifications are the ones who have the social acumen to blow your pants off when they speak. So far this guy has done nothing but make negative headlines. It's early, probably far too soon to judge, but man he has had a really embaressing start.

Can’t remember who said this— maybe Justin Williams- but basically Dr. Pinto is a low-key guy so he hired someone whom he felt was similar to him style wise. This style works at places where the the fans are begging the school to take their money, but at a place like UC you need someone who can charm the fat wallet crowd and at the same time engage Joe Casual Sportsfan.

IMO, Pinto was a less than inspiring hire, too.

I wonder greatly what the University looks like if Bob Mcdonald got the job

I thought Opie was a way less experienced Mike Thomas when he was hired. He’s a compliance wonk. Have not seen anything from him that screams this is the right guy.

That recorded message was sorta cringeworthy.

A Godsend that Big Fick rejected MSU. Can't imagine trying to hire a replacement for our #1 sports revenue program under the current climate.

That is a huge understatement. Zero charisma. If you ever talk to him you will understand my point. Ono may have been too much sizzle and too little steak but he did create enthusiasm.

Pinto is a blah.
