Rifle-wielding St. Louis lawyer breaks silence after incident with protesters
It appears this man was well within his rights to protect his life and his property. As the Democrats continue their support of these anarchists, I think this scene will become more frequent.
Quote:The St. Louis lawyer who went viral after wielding a rifle to ward off protesters as they marched through his neighborhood said he feared the crowd was going to kill him and his wife and burn their mansion down like the “storming of the Bastille.”
Mark McCloskey told a local NBC affiliate KDSK the crowd of protesters had broken a gate to his estate as they marched toward the mayor’s house on the city’s Central West End on Sunday evening.
The crowd then began threatening him and his wife, McCloskey claimed.
“We were threatened with our lives, threatened with a house being burned down, my office building being burned down, even our dog’s life being threatened,” he said in the interview.
“It was, it was about as bad as it can get. I mean, those you know, I really thought it was Storming the Bastille that we would be dead and the house would be burned and there was nothing we could do about it,” he added.
McCloskey grabbed a semiautomatic rifle and his wife, Patricia McCloskey, brandished a silver pistol, pointing it at the protesters and yelling at them that their house and street is private property.
“The only thing we said is this is private property. Go back. Private property. Leave now,” McCloskey said in the interview.
He and his wife live on Portland Place, a private street in a historic section of the city that is lined with million-dollar homes and other mansions.
He told KDSK that the mob of demonstrators broke a gate that seals off the street from the public, claiming that as soon as they passed through the entrance they were trespassing on private property.
“Everything inside the Portland Place gate is private property. There is nothing public in Portland Place,” McCloskey said in the interview.
“Being inside that gate is like being in my living room.”
The protesters were en route to St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson’s home to demand her resignation after she released names and addresses of residents who joined in anti-cop protests.

Did not realize it was a "locked" gated community. They were perfectly within their rights to protect their property from those that had already committed breaking and entering. It was not trespassing if they broke down the gate to the community. I expect there will be new security on duty at the gate from this point on.

Rifle-wielding St. Louis lawyer breaks silence after incident with protesters
It was a wild scene and those folks were probably holding weapons that were not loaded.
But i guarantee if a group breaks onto my property like that, it wouldnt end well.
I've seen three things by the lefturds on this...
1. Ignorance / hate of private property rights
2. Disdain for wealth
3. The media headlines were all **** lies

Wow, those are really spiffy homes. Why are Leftist protestors always looking like they didn't shower in days? The women, why are they so out of shape and fat and some with stringy hair?

Been better if he would have set up a .50 cal on the front porch, although a Gatlin gun would have been more period correct given the house.

If they brandished weapons they should be loaded. It's never smart to use an unloaded gun as a scare tactic. You may just end up needing to use it.

Protesters enter around the 27-28 minute mark.
Did it look like the protestors took a short cut though this neighborhood to to the mayors home? It looked like they entered and left through gates before getting to the mayors home. There was a guard at the second gate. Im a bit confused as to what went on here. In any rate...the home owners had a right to protect their property. It looked like many of the protesters did not understand they were on private property and thought the street and side walks were public. I imagine many of them did not see the sign due to the crowd. Fortunately no one got hurt. I imagine some very clear signage will appear on the gates as to private property after this.

Yep.
Google Maps street view from April 2019. The street gate shows an attached sign and the pedestrian gates on both sides of the street have signs as well.
The gate on the right (north corner) appears to be the gate they entered. Even if the gate was unlocked (thus destroyed after they began entering) that does not mean the private property laws are null and void.

I'm sure "4th degree" means absolutely NO consequence..kind of like Crooked Hillary's 4th degree violations of handling classified material.
