The shelf life of the nba is gonna be really really short. That’s 100% on them too.

This has been my point about kneeling all along. These athletes in the NFL have had 3 years to come up with an alternative to Kap’s kneeling protest that they know offends many. The NFL is full of intelligent college educated men. No reason they can’t come up with a creative alternative to Kapernicks disrespectful and divisive method of protest. It took the NBA players just a few months to come up with an excellent alternative.
Well its not like giving the middle finger to their country and most of their fans.
But I don't watch sports to see politics.
Agree. I'd prefer sports to be an escape from real life and politics. But---if you must protest---at least do so in a way that is not divisive and insulting to vets (as well as just plain ole' patriotic Americans). Just because Kap was the first, doesnt mean the rest of the NFL players have to follow the guy off the same cliff. There is no law that says Kap gets to decide how every NFL player protests. The fact the players want to continue that form of protest---knowing it is divisive--tells me they WANT it to be division and insulting to patriotic Americans. I know they say it has nothing to do with the flag---but if thats the case---then why choose that manner of protest? The fact they intend to stick with the same form despite having 3 years to come up with something different tells me they WANT to be insulting to the flag and anthem. They WANT to spit in the eye of veterans and patriotc Americans.
If the NFL was smart, they would simply cease starting games with the national anthem. That removes the big stage and would force the players to find another way to support thier cause. In the anthems place, I would have a short presentation to honor a random wounded vet at each game and award him a $100,000 check. Lots of wounded vets of color I suspect. I think the players and owners should contribute equally to the fund that would pay these $100K checks to wounded vets.
Then tell the DOD to stop paying the NFL

What is the closest major city to Appalachian State? How far is it? Speaking of white white privelege how many times have you and your rich butt buddies been skiing at ski beach?
Also, do u think the NBA wants to shrink their audience? I mean really?

I can't remember the last time I watched an NBA game on TV, I've never attended a game in person even though I've been offered free tickets multiple times.

When the Houston Rockets played in the old Summit (later Compaq Center and now Joel Osteen's church) I had a press pass for two years, and lived within walking distance--difficult but possible walking distance. I went not a single time. I think I've been to an NBA game, probably during the Magic/Bird era when I at least enjoyed watching. I don't really remember for sure, so obviously it didn't make a big impression. I just don't like NBA ball. Throw the ball around the perimeter until somebody jacks up a three just ins't my cup of tea. And college ball is getting there.

It gets kind of boring. But then it is better than the two man game when the Rockets won back-to-back and stuck it to the Knicks, Shaq and Michael.

Haven't watched it in years. To me it's as fixed as the WWF.
This, plus I can't remember when I watched "a" game of pro basketball. Especially with idiots like Lebron.

They won’t miss me. I haven’t cared to watch an NBA game in decades. This makes me want to tune in to one though. I would be interested in how they could get ‘LaQuisneekuntakentea Trump sucks’ on the back of a jersey....

RE: NBA goes open political
I was a big fan of the Kentucky Colonels, but then they folded at the ABA/NBA merger. Kind of followed ex-Colonels (and UK Wildcats) Dan Issel at Denver and Louie Dampier at San Antonio. Eventually I started following the Rockets and watch on TV as many games as I could. Then came kids and so I probably only watch a couple regular season games a year. I've been to a few Rockets games, a few Hawks games. My son had a friend whose family had tickets and he went frequently a few years back. And with the NBA's emphasis on individual stars, Celtics and Lakers, there aren't many Rockets games on anyways. The Celtics and Lakers and "Look at me" LeBron have little interest for me in the playoffs. I do watch some of the Rockets playoff games.

You do understand that some day you'll be the old man you are now mocking, correct? And an entire generation behind you will mock you as well. Same as it ever was. but I get it, it took my whole life to outgrow young and dumb.

He’s crazy. The NBA is foaming at the mouth to get all those old chinamen out in the real sticks to watch....

I gotta admit, I enjoyed Rockets games at the Summit. I went several times in the 90's, and was there when they beat Utah in the west finals and New York in the NBA finals in 1994.
Hakeem was a great scorer and passer, and when the ball went to him in the post, there wasn't much the opponent could do. Double him, and somebody was open for a 3. Don't double, and he would put the moves on his man.
Now, as an old man in the sticks, I'd have to say if the NBA was as political then as it is now, I'd have never gone to a game.

The NBA needs A LOT more diversity in it before they should even pretend to act like they are politically correct. Same goes for the NFL.

They'll ride the BLM corporate wave for a while. The teams are almost all in blue liberal shitttholes where's there's lot of loser d-bags who wouldn't know the difference between a layup and a timeout, but will go to show how woke they are in support of social justice. NASCAR gonna try the same but same woke losers who wouldn't know the difference between a spark plug and an impact wrench wont make a weekend of Talladega camping and sit in the heat to watch Bubba finish 28th.
