RE: 2021 MBB Recruiting
Hopefully Ridge View will have a game or two in the Low Country this year so this Charleston-based fan can get a look.

After the random Drae Rice follow of the sports blog, I felt pretty good about the commitment. Even with that though, the Tribe fan in me was convinced that he'd have a Elon shirt on under his sweatshirt.

Really excited for the backcourt of the future!

RE: 2021 MBB Recruiting
Two very entertaining recaps of Ridge View's run to the 2020 SC 4A State Championship. Tyler (#3) led the way with 23 points in the championship. Have to remember he is only a junior here. Worth watching.

Semis - https://youtu.be/IlRkzrXtySA
Addt'l raw extended footage of the semis (more Tyler) - https://youtu.be/YlOUyWLo8b8

Ridge View's 2019 state championship game. Tyler came off the bench, so, no real highlight appearance. This is big boy basketball, though. Had to keep reminding myself this was a HS game. Start at the 14:15 mark. Love their coach!

Julian Lewis, Noah Harris and Matthew Nunez liked Rice's commit announcement, plus, Lewis started following Tyler. C'mon momentum.

2021 MBB Recruiting
I very much like Dane’s first 4 “real” recruits; those he had a full recruiting cycle to work. Based on nothing more than high school accolades and the way I feel when I watch them, Milkereit, Yuri C, Kochera, and Rice are a very solid group. I see 3 of 4 as potential stars. If they were a single class, I’d put them on par with Audige, Owens, Scott, Blair, and Harvey, which was the class in the last 8ish years that I’ve been most excited about. Now let’s see if Dane can lock down a big man!

Garrett Johnson picks up an offer from Charlotte
-
Coach Boatner has started following 6'8 Ileri Ayo-Faleye - Coach Kemp and WMTribeMBB started following him a month ago. Since then Ayo-Faleye has added offers from Brown, NC A&T, Central Connecticut State, Rice, and Robert Morris.
-
A MTSU coach is now following Langdon Hatton
-
Grant Hurst and Jordan Wildy also liked Tyler Rice's WM commitment tweet.
-
Cleveland Basketball, Grant Hurst's HS, is now following Coach Kemp.

David, Jimmy Moran, and Terry Tarpey are still my most favorite Tribe players because of the toughness and leadership that they brought to the floor every night. I will probably be laughed at for saying this but I believe that David might have been Tony's most important recruit because he taught the program how to win and he made our program relevant. Those 4 days at the CAA tournament in 2010 were pretty magical.

Probably shouldn't be so skeptical, but hard not to take offense to the Hargrave Post Grad HC initiating a follow with Rice. Really?

Should would be a better look for Tyler to follow Julian Lewis back, who he hasn't.

Nice, I was worried that when Penn St came calling he might start getting a wave of power conference offers and overlook us. Great start to the class

2021 MBB Recruiting
So, we had 3 spots open plus an extra. The targets going in were a PG, an athletic forward, and a big. Now that Rice is on board, I'm wondering if the other pgs/cgs are off the table? Do we fill the 3 needs and fill the 4th with a luxury pick? Do we take an extra big? Do we pocket the pick for needs down the road?

PG/CG - Rice, Harris (Unlikely - Folkes, Brizzi)

SF - Lewis, Smith, Schwieger

Athletic Forward - Hughey, Johnson, (Unlikely - Tschetter)

Big - Hatton, Braun

Assuming Folkes and Tschetter are off the board, my top picks are Rice, Hughey, & Hatton. If adding a 4th, I'll take Lewis or Johnson.

I thought we have 3 total next year assuming this year's class is set. Let me know if I (really VerbalCommits) am off:

Sr. This year - Loewe
Jr - Scott, Blair, Harvey
So - Rainers, Ayesa, Stone, Wight
Fr - Yuri, Jake, Connor
2021 (start) - Rice +2 more as of now

Do we pocket the pick for needs down the road?

Your numbers look right. I was thinking with the loss of Jihar we gained a spot. If the goal is PG, Athletic forward, and big- Brizzi, Folkes, and Harris have to be off the table. Lump Lewis, Smith, and Schwieger in with the taller Tschetter, Hughey, and Johnson. With Rice in the fold, my top priority would be Tyrese Hughey. He brings a physical post presence this team is lacking. With the last pick I'd target Hatton. If he's gone and they arent in love with available bigs, I'd be happy with a Swiss army knife player like Lewis. I think Nunez reclassification threw the staff for a loop. I think that they felt really good there.

Agree with your numbers. Wight will be a Redshirt freshman.
