At the time of the last expansions in early 90's, The Liberty Bowl was better than a handful of NFL stadiums day one. But there was no plan as to what the future would hold for the Liberty Bowl while other franchises had plans.

Texas Stadium was a joke for the caliber of franchise of the Cowboys.

And they are on their second stadium since then.

Maybe the mayor and the group that runs the city are better money managers.

Memphis not so much although I understand that Shelby County employees got a new perk effective July 1st for having babies.

Tampa Stadium was originally built in 1967 and was two large stands that were open in both endzones that was completely aluminum bleacher bench seating in concrete. To get the Bucs they added 20,000 bad aluminum bleacher bench seats (sound familiar) by closing in the end zones with concrete. They used our Liberty Bowl for the design idea. The only chairback seats were a few lower rows between the goal lines, again just like our Liberty Bowl.

Anybody else hearing that the NFL is hinting that Nashville needs a dome? That stadium is 21 years old already.

The lux boxes are good. And video is decent.
But the stadium is bad. All around. Concourses are dark and lacking. Nosebleeds are true nosebleeds. Air space in the end zones are okay, but the seating is lacking. And the turf they grow is terrible. By late October it is chewed up and not good.

When the decision to build and fund the NFL,stadium in Nashville was made in 1995 and 1996 the Democrats controlled the office of the governor (Bredeson), the state senate (18-15), and the state house (61-38).

You have the Democratic party to blame.

Yep. And Bredesen was Nashville through and through. He even called Dunavant to borrow the analysis and PR that they had put together for the Memphis NFL bid.
