Our FCS games are just as likely to bring in 40K+ than a P5 opponent.

Not true unless it's a home opener when we seem to draw well regardless of the opponent. And statistically based upon history it's not true either in terms of attendance or revenue (especially when we give away or sell thru Kroger more tickers that we sell walk-up for the FCS games). Wait for the UT-M attendance on 11/21 & we can discuss this further.

Messing around with a schedule that possibly gets us two losses isn't smart at this point. We have passed Boise. IF we make the NY6 game again we will pass UCF.

We are building a top 15 brand right now. We have to do everything to avoid taking a step back.

I'd much rather play Boise State in 2024 than a Louisiana Tech. The reason why I say 2024 is due to the fact that'll be the earliest convince to play the Broncos. Honestly, I would also prefer losing to the Broncos over winning against Louisiana Tech. Also, I wouldn't say that we have passed Boise State either. One of the reasons why we went to the Cotton Bowl is that we did in the American. However, escaping wins against Ole Miss and Tulsa gave us a boost. The only reason why Boise State didn't make it to the Cotton Bowl was largely because of conference and the fact they play on the west conference.

I'm going to be honest, I still believe UCF is still ahead of us. Yes, it'll have to take another "2019 season" in 2020 to officially pass UCF in terms of perception of the American and the whole country when it comes to who dominates the AAC. If we lose to UCF, and somehow make it to the G6 bowl, than the Knights (to me) still have an advantage over Memphis.

However, the real question is how is this team going to shape in 2021? That, to me, will be the "first" season under the Ryan Silverfield era. This 2020 season is a veteran group that's mature. It's going to be basically Norvell's team again.
Personally, we still got some work to do in order to pass UCF. However, beating the Knights, and winning another AAC title, will push us up to the top.

There is a fan's perspective for which I am one
Then there is a strategic long term perspective which at times goes against what some fans want which i understand

Boise playing in the Mountain West and having the majority of their games playing late is killing them. I will say, that I am falling in love with the "branding" too much.
UCF is a stretch to say, especially if we lose to UCF in October. If we do lose to UCF, but beat Cincinnati in December to make it to the NY6. Then you have a debate.
If that were to happen, Over the last 4 years, both team have made it to the NY6 twice (with UCF beating Auburn), UCF is 5-0 against Memphis over the span of four years. Point is, we have to beat UCF in order to claim the perception of our conference. That's just me. I do believe we can beat UCF this time in October. It's a debate where we're all going to have our differences.

Boise is killed, the how or why doesn't matter. We have passed them. As far as the conference goes, we don't have to beat anyone specifically. If we get to the NY6 for the 2nd year in a row, we are the kings. There won't be a debate. Nobody in the country will care.

Yeah, he has a weird outlook IF he's a Tigers fan.

There's so much in this post that indicate he's really not.

Boise isn't dead. The talking heads still push them for NY6 inclusion every year, and some preseason projections always put them in. Until someone in the west passes them you can't consider them dead..

They are dead because they haven't been to a NY6 game in 6 years, they haven't been playing or obviously beating top 15 teams, their conference is full of dead weight and they haven't been able to go undefeated. If they have the same number of losses as an AAC team they will never get in.

The talking heads can push all they want. They lost 1 game last year and nobody thought they should have taken our spot.

Boise was oh-so-close to being undefeated during last year's regular season. They are definitely still relevant.

64-17 over last 6 years. Roughly 11-3 average. They are dead.

2015 - No NY6
2016 - No NY6
2017 - No NY6
2018 - No NY6
2019 - No NY6

YEAR END RANKINGS
2004 - 12
2006 - 5
2009 - 4
2010 - 7
2011 - 8

Their highest ranking in the last 5 years is #22. They have no wins against the top 25 P5 in 5 years and only 4 in total. During that time we have 7 and 2 respectively. What I said stands. They don't beat ranked P5's and their conference is killing them.

They are still a very good program, but they are always going to be behind the top AAC team when it comes to getting to the NY6.

That was nearly 30 years ago.

Your street probably had a meaningful source back then.

RE: Tigers home football schedule
Alonso, the point is we played a tough schedule and won.
Then we got a a.d. and coach that preferred the CUPCAKE diet
I hope we r trying to play a tougher OOC schedule.
I know Ike busts Tommy's chops, but He and Cutcliffe were teammates at utk and I believe Tommy
Probably had something to do with the Duke home and away series.
A.D.'s have connections with schools they attended, worked for ect. They need to make things happen.
Unfortunately I doubt the home and home will not be a gimme but take the game when offered at their house.
Nice when we kick ass on the road and of course giving schools a basketball game helps sweeten the chances

With a tougher conference, it’s easier for Boise to go undefeated that it is for an AAC member. Also, with 6 NY6 bowl berths over the past 15 yrs, an undefeated Boise probably gets the NY6 berth over a 1-loss AAC champion.

As for us passing UCF - I’d have to disagree.... UCF has 3 NY6 bowl berths, and have won 2 of them. We only have one, and it was a loss. Plus, we haven’t beaten them in the past 4-5 yrs, including a couple of a$$ whoopin’s down in Orlando. Let’s beat them before we beat our chest.

As for the conference... We need for the Houston’s, SMU’s and Temple’s to keep getting better. The more good teams, the better our conference reputation becomes. We also need to keep building our Tiger brand so folks want to watch us on TV.

I meant... “with an easier conference” regarding Boise going undefeated.
