MS Flag
Now that the SEC has issued a statement to change the MS flag or risk no championships being hosted in MS, I wonder if C-USA will do the same. The flag needs to go it is long overdue. I am interested to see if C-USA rebukes their flagship.

Since we have no demand to host our championships...I think we will stay quiet on the matter.

The NCAA did the same thing in SC a few years ago, because they flew the Confederate Flag on the grounds of the State Capital. SC removed it.

This is a tad different...forcing a state to change their flag that has been around since the 1800's or risk championships being banned in the state.

2022 is in Hattiesburg. Still Mississippi but wrong location as Biloxi is the coast where it was the previous 4 years (3 actually as this year was cancelled).

I guess the thing that is the same is that you should see the writing on the wall. I have seen this in SC and GA, and next corporations will begin to jump on board. MS can do this because they believe it is it the right thing to do, or the economically expediant thing to do, but I am sure they will change the flag.

Let the citizens of the state make the decision and have a statewide in person vote like we have in the past.

In fairness, the people of MS voted to keep the flag the way it is. It is their flag so i don't see what right outsiders have to force them to make a change.

RE: MS Flag
Nobody's forcing anything. The SEC doesn't want to be associated with the Mississippi state flag or the state that embraces it, so they choose to withhold business to entities whose values don't match up with theirs. They have every right to make decisions in their best interest as the state of Mississippi does. Or you, for that matter. If you don't want to spend money there because you don't like what the flag represents, that's a choice you can make. If you want to give them all of your business because you *do* like what the flag represents, that's also a choice. Mississippi isn't legally obligated to change its flag, and the SEC isn't obligated to put tournaments there if they don't like it.

Anyone who is currently 36 years old or younger wasn’t old enough to have voted on the flag back in 2001. Their voices should not be silenced simply because a previous generation of voters elected to keep it.

Funny how a little lead takes all the starch out of them.

They are Marxists. But, they are backed by Corporate Multi Nationals. The deal with the SEC is that all of their rights are owned by one of them, Disney. The corporate elites just want unrestricted trade with China, and anyone else, no matter how at risk it places the security of the United States and its people. China funds the Marxists because they see a great opportunity to create internal instability that furthers their military agenda. Career politicians in Washington just know that the Corporate Multi-nationals line their pockets, and when they have to do something for them that gets them in hot water inside government, the Corporate speaking circuit will keep them well compensated for their sacrifices. This is why Obama and Clinton continue to get well paid, and those like Bolton will be paid as well for trying to take down the guy who threatens business as usual for the corporations, even though business for real Americans is going much much better under Trump because they aren't giving away the farm to get the multinationals their damn perks.

Trumps base is in the South and Southwest. BLM is designed to anger the Southern and Southwestern voters and make things feel like they are coming apart. Pressuring Mississippi over the flag through the SEC, and Finebaum's ever increasing lackey shows, is their way of trying to sow disunity in the South.

The problem for the right is that when Corporations cave, when left wing mayors cave, and when University Presidents cave, it makes it seem like BLM is much more powerful than it is.

But remember this. Even if every African American were behind this, which they aren't by a long shot, we are still talking at most only 14% of the population, which isn't worth it to Corporate America, left wing mayors, or University Presidents to cave into. They stand to lose domestically by doing this. It's the overseas trade that makes up for that and eclipses it making the backing of BLM potentially profitable for them. If Corporate America gets its way the Universities will get a payoff from them in the form of grants (which are a trojan horse in some ways) and the Dem mayors get personally bumped politically. That's their payoff.

This isn't about BLM, about Floyd, about statues, about cheers at schools, or flags. This is about sowing disunity, undermining the economy, and selling the pandemic, all to get Trump out, cement the Deep State in place, and make America serve their Corporate interests.

Now to BLM it's about power, but the corporate elite don't really care about them or ANTIFA because to them this is just a means to an end.

As if the schools hosting these events have anything to do with a state flag. If the SEC wants to politicalize sports, you think that’s okay. I don’t.
I'm guessing the boosters at each school have friends in high places in the state.
