Good because you are going to be very, very happy going forward.
Be sure to watch the ASU Nebraska game this Saturday, and ASU has another nationally televised game on a Tuesday night this year, and many more to follow.
Looks like both parties have decided that there is money to be made in creating the Boise of the South..
Sorry it was not Memphis but what can I say, it just wasn't. Maybe you can be the next Arkansas State.

RE: Arkansas State series
and yes I know some posters here want Memphis fans to give me all the credit for the Boise of The South goal by their AD, who really did not like sharing the credit, and let me know because he sit two rows ahead of me in church every Sunday.
2012 Arkansas State Football: Gus Malzahn And Committing To Committing
"Arkansas State made a huge hire and is investing like never before in its football program. They have committed to committing to become the Boise State Of The South....".
https://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-football/2...lzahn-2012
I'm sure if they are not the G5 Representative I'll get the credit for their current AD's "when" not "if", "sooner not later" promise to do so. Pretty sure if they do, those posters will give me credit.

or that I'm the only one that though Malzahn would stay, and help them achieve their Boise Goal.
“People were really bent about Malzahn because he kind of wrote checks that he didn’t cash,” Bir says. “He even said, ‘If you think I’m a one-and-done kind of guy, you don’t know me very well,’ and then boom, he’s gone after one year. People understand it was unusual for that opportunity to come open, but a lot of people were scarred by that one comment.”

I do want to take credit for saying you are going to be impressed with their talent, and the "monsters" they have on their 2-deep, just don't say I'm predicting they will beat you, because I'm not.

Seemed to know what he was getting onto: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPsavT4N7pQ
and mentioned the "Boise of the South" Goal at the 2:48 mark.
and in this video of theirs he makes it clear that he expected them to be in the top 25 year in and year out:.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWXwKG-foEc
Their is a good ESPN video going into more detail about how they were going to achieve their Boise Goal, and both sides discussing the attractiveness of his offense, not only for recruits but for TV. I'm worried it was on a disk, A-State was putting out disk back then, but it should be out there somewhere. .

The above is just to remind posters here of the environment we were posting in eight years ago, and they had a good year under Malzahn, and hopefully I will able come back at the start of the next decade to discuss the past decade, and their "when" not "if", and your series.

I just reported this to the mods. Very disturbing.
No a little correction, they think they are going to beat you, I think whoever gets the ball last, if their is enough time left wins.
I know you have the better overall talent, and will be favored, but they just have the best 2-deep, and more of the monsters than you do, kinda like 1975.
No that coach was going to build them into the "The Boise of the South", their current coach is expected to make them the G5 Representative, and has said he has had the talent to do so the last four years, and more so this year.

You sure are using “they” and “them” a lot. Is this so that we’ll believe you’re a neutral observer? When you were trolling the Arkansas LR fans, it was always “us” and “we”. Slip of the tongue?

RE: Arkansas State series
Well when it come to Memphis and A-State any sign of being non-neutral at the game, might result in my getting tossed out of one of those boxes.
When they dragged me out of Memphis, kicking and screaming, all those years ago, my only though was how do I get back across that damn bridge.
I made my family take the Memphis Press scimitar, and Charlie B. Watson was a god, well he and Sivad.
Then Memphis did not offer me anything in baseball out of HS, and my world crumbled.
Have to make the best of what you have and where you are I say.
Now "we" for me are all the other college and universities in Arkansas that don't have a pig as a mascot, on their largest website.
You are still going to be impressed with their talent, and like 1975 you are going to hate their monsters. Thinking about going to Red Lobster before the game this year.

Their was nothing after his first season, that made anyone believe he could not deliver on the "Boise of the South", and "top 25 on a regular basis" promises he made, or his ‘If you think I’m a one-and-done kind of guy, you don’t know me very well,’.

RE: Arkansas State series
Some of you might remember some of those "monsters" that tilted the field in their direction:
or T.J. Humpreys an Associated Press 1st-team All-American in his senior year in 1976, who chose to go to med-school after being drafted in the 3rd round,
or Orna Mifddlebrook or Roy Painter or Robert Speer or Dick Dixon or Mike Malham or David Hines or, never mind, just that these players were better than any player you had on you roster in 1975, and you had the best roster of talent, aside from them, and were not ready. You are in the same boat in 2020, they will have the best players on the field, and they have some monsters, aside from the one I posted his picture of above.

No you really don't, but I'm not predicting a win for them...........you are really, really good, they are just bigger, and stronger and faster...promise. Just like 1975.

RE: Arkansas State series
I still don't understand why this is a conversation...
We have a better recruiting class...Didn't lose a ton and had a much better team the previous year.
They may beat us but ever metric says we are close to a double digit favorite.
We shared 3 common opponents last year...AState lost by 4 and Memphis won by 500 both @ S. Alabama
In the other AState won by 7 and Memphis won by 19 both @ home
vs. SMU Astate lost by 7 and Memphis won by 6 both @ home

Arkansas State series
Every year my stress level rises in the very beginning of the first game. Every coach says we’re gonna have an amazing team this year. What if the coach is wrong? What if the QB has bad indigestion? What if it sprinkles and we can’t play in the rain?
About five minutes into the game when we’re beating Arkansas State 21-0 I’ll finally start to relax.
