Scared me for a minute! Thought he was transferring. Awesome to hear he's feeling healthy. Late season, he was showing glimpses of what I believe he can do. I won't be shocked if he averages double figures in 2020-21, or close to it. I think it will be a Keith Williams-esque 2nd year jump.

That 3 pointer against ECU was enough for me to be ok with him at this point. There are a lot of guys who wouldn't pull in that situation, let alone make it, as a true freshman. He clearly was still recovering and playing through it, but now that he is back to 100%,I'm expecting big things from him in the next few years (specifically because we'll need it).

RE: 20-21 bearcats
Bumping this to get everyone's thoughts given the additions over the last few months.
This is where things stand now:
Departures:
Chris McNeal
Jaevin Cumberland
Jarron Cumberland
Tre Scott
Prince Toyambi
Jay Sorolla
Trevor Moore
Returning Players:
Jeremiah Davenport
Keith Williams (safe assumption to return)
Mika Adams-Woods
Mamadou Diarra
Zach Harvey
Chris Vogt (safe assumption to return)
New Arrivals:
Tari Eason
Viktor Lakhin
Gabe Madsen
Mike Saunders
Mason Madsen
David DeJulius (pending NCAA waiver)
Rapolas Ivanauskas
Any revised thoughts on how the lineup comes together and what to expect this season?

I just wish we had more known commodities coming back.
We could be real good. We could... not.

I agree. It's a lot of roster turnover with (potentially) less time on campus than normal to practice and gel. I have questions on whether KW will step up as the primary scoring threat (I think he will, but we'll see). Who becomes the secondary option? Will Dou continue to progress? I also wonder how we get meaningful playing time for 7 guards (MAW, Davenport, DeJulius, Harvey, Madsenx2, Saunders and DeJulius).

I don't think we know yet if DeJulius will have to sit out. We also don't know the status of Davenport's recovery, nor do we know what to expect from the Madsens and Saunders as freshmen. So that really only leaves us with MAW, K2, and Harvey as guys we can 100% rely upon to be contributors. I think in the end, we'll be at least 5 deep at positions 1-3, but I'd rather have one too many guards than one too few.

This is somewhat interesting as i believe his agency represents a lot of foreign players and teams. My bet is he still comes back, but foreign teams covet size so he could get some pretty good offers overseas. It's not low ball money.

Cincinnati's Chris Vogt has signed with GoEmpire Group, per his Twitter page.
Since this is an NCAA certified agency, Vogt is eligible to return to school next season.

I know they’ll have talent but I would be shocked if South Florida finishes ahead of UC.

We have a lot more talent than I expected, particularly if DeJulius is eligible (and, of course, Williams and Vogt return). I expect Ivanauskas to be up and down on offense and probably below average on D. We will still need MAW, Harvey, and/or Diarra to really improve, which might be a tall order given the shutdown. I don't expect the freshman to do too much. Assuming everyone is back and eligible, it looks like a top 40 type 8-11 seed tourney team is a solid if optimistic possibility? Much better than I thought Brannen's second year would look when he got the job.

AAC preview
The homer in me says DeJulius gets his waiver and we're better than 5th in the AAC. I think we'll be somewhere around 2nd or 3rd.
Cincinnati needs both Williams and Vogt back to remain in the mix at the top of the league. Both will be back and we will remain in the mix. Book it Dan-OH

UC will finish in the Top 3 even if Vogt and Williams leave. If they both come back UC will win the league.

Yeah Houston losing Hinton and Fabian White are massive for their defense/rebounding identity.

Trying to refrain from the homer glasses but I agree. That seems like a huge stretch to me.

RE: 20-21 bearcats
So, this greasy mama's boy picks us to finish 5th and USF to finish 4th in the league? Get the fug outta here with that crap! What has USF done in the past two decades? [crickets] Not a whole hell of a lot. What has UC basketball done over the same time frame? Not even close. I know it's just an article from someone's opinion but that is about the biggest damn joke of the year.

Eason will have an impact.

He looks super talented. Hard to tell how that will translate this season.
What kind of numbers are you thinking for him?

RE: 20-21 bearcats
John Rothstinks needs to actually look at recent history. AAC Conference records....
2013
15-3 UC [Tied 1st]
3-15 USF [10th]
2014
13-5 UC [Tied 3rd]
3-15 USF [11th]
2015
12-6 UC [Tied 3rd]
4-14 USF [Tied 9th]
2016
16-2 UC [2nd]
1-17 USF [11th]
2017
16-2 UC [1st]
3-15 USF [12th]
2018
14-4 UC [2nd]
8-10 USF [Tied 7th]
2019
13-5 UC [Tied 1st]
7-11 USF [Tied 8th]
The worst UC has finished is tied for 3rd in conference play and the Cats have won/shared three league titles. USF has NEVER finished above 7th place and ended up in the conference septic tank four times. So yeah, I see why he's picked USF to finish 4th in the 2020 season...
