Basically a straight trade for Prince Toyambi, I'll take it.

Checks in at #137 in 247's composite ranking. Great addition!

That's a nice ranking for someone this late in the cycle. Per 247 composite, he's the second highest rated player in the class behind Tari.

RE: Another Dancing Bearcat
If you look at Lakhin as a Center, we essentially just recruited a full rotation this year:
Saunders - PG
M. Madsen - 2nd Guard
G. Madsen - Wing
Eason - Wing/High Post
Lakhin - Center/Low Post

Great pickup. Skilled and mobile American bigs have tremendously crowded recruitments. It makes a ton of sense to dip into the international ranks - he’s also rated higher than a few of their top targets last summer like Zach Loveday.

For 2021 it looks like Brannen only needs a 4 and a big wing. It’ll be really interesting to see who he can pull in with a small class for the first time at UC. Michael James/Shane Dezonie and Jalin Billingsley would be a home run.

I'd prefer Gabe Wiznitzer over Billingsley because Lakhin looks like he can flex between the 4 and 5. I would love to have some more size, especially on the defensive end of the court after Vogt and Diarra graduate.

James and Dezonie both look like great prospects and Cincy seems like they have a realistic shot at both.

Don’t feel bad. I took 3 years of Russian at UC and I know about as much of that language as I do Navajo.

To be honest, those are the types/quality of kids we should have no problem snagging a couple of too.. those in the top 75-125 range.

Seems like a solid pickup especially this late.

Very interesting to see how Brannen pulls guys from all over. MAW is from Syracuse, Saunders is from Indy and was in school out in Utah, the Madsens are from Minnesota, Eason Seattle, now he gets Lahkin from Russia. Will Brannen continue to recruit all over like this?

I love it. Tells me that he and his staff are turning over every stone to find the best talent. I think someone in this thread or another mentioned we might be able to carve out a space in the European recruiting sphere similar to Gonzaga. I would definitely love that. If Rapolas Ivanauskas and Lakhin are successful here, hopefully it will open up to more European prospects.
