This board is insufferable at times. Think it's time to sign off for a bit.

Guys: you really are being selfish and ruining these boards for people who want to get away from conversations about race, religion and politics. Why can’t you stop? We all keep asking you nicely to please stop yet you continue on. Can you please listen to the overwhelming majority of posters that would like to stick to JMU sports talk on a JMU sports board?

Aw man, can someone send tech support over to JMUNation? His mouse is clicking into this thread against his will again.

Like I said. Being nice just doesn’t resonate with you. Are you this way face to face? Serious question. Do you enjoy confrontation as part of your everyday life?

Do you not understand how offensive “stick to sports” is? This thread is explicitly about racial injustice and national unrest, and you’re somehow appalled by people then discussing racial injustice and national unrest.

You’re just as bad as that guy who would click into Women’s Basketball threads for the sole purpose of telling everyone how useless Women’s Basketball is. You add nothing at all to the discussion.

If this thread is not for you, move along! This message board is free! You are not required to subjugate yourself to the horrors of non-sports discussion!

Please read this thread title. There are some things so important that they saturate every fiber of our culture, including sports message boards.

Among the more critical problems in our country today, in my opinion, is apathy, people wanting to look the other way when there is heavy lifting to be done because they can't see the importance of their personal involvement or simply want to let others deal with it. It is so nice and safe that way.

So, look the other way if you must, but for God's sake, don't criticize those who have the guts to address these critically important issues. They are important to all of us and to JMU as the institution we all love.

Kudos to Hyper and bjk for having the guts to stand up for their convictions, as misguided as I believe they are.

I am going to try to let this go now. Please, Hyper and bjk, do the same.

My last few posts in this thread have tried to move on from this endless discussion, so I think I’m good.

I feel that part of the anxiety resulting from some of the comments being expressed here - on this thread, on this JMU Sports board - is relative to the sense that some opinions are being quasi-levied upon the readership and participants... and the right to do so defended with moral righteousness. This due to the fact there is another whole board on this site dedicated to things such as politics and social issues. ...and before someone gets the urge to virtue signal my simple observation, we all realize the gravity and seriousness of what is going on right now in our country. Some - most - of us only really, simply, want a brief respite from (or just a place to go to void of) the inundation. Thread title or not.

Go Dukes! Run more... especially on Poormond.

Even as some people/groups of power encourage division, that is something we can all agree on.

Did you guys see the HERO preview where he listed Richmond as a dark horse? Is he being serious?

The Left despises powerful conservative females especially minority women like Candace Owens.

George Floyd was murdered by a cop and justice needs to be served. But he should not portrayed as a boy scout or hero. Candace Owens made a video regarding George Floyd. She has been crucified and called every racial thing in the book from the tolerant left. Here is her apology. Priceless.[Image: 26bb872c9fb0e6bcc02e3b01f1661642.jpg]

I am not seeing it with Richmond this year either. Who have they added that is going to turn them into a contender? Same for Towson. Is the transfer from Weber St. a better QB than baby Flacco?

Nova when healthy is a team to be concerned about. UD is getting better. Their defense is legit. That game worries me if their offense finally turns the corner. UNH with their head coach back in the fold is always a concern. That guy is a difference maker. How they kept him all these years is amazing to me. He is a great football coach.

Richmond and W&M might be better this year but JMU would have to come way back to the pack for them to pose any threat of beating us. Cignetti had the benefit of walking into a stacked roster last year. The next two years will tell us just how good of a recruiter he is as the roster will turn over during this time. Soon it will be all Cig recruits.

[Murder is bad, but surely the victim must be discredited because reasons.]
