I just hit reply with quotes - same reason dukequin said, the site randomly does things like that.

You know I love you.

We do love each other. This is true. Ok, just seemed weird. I get it.

Get a room, guys.

A Washington State professor created a site to track COVID numbers in Census combined statistical areas related to college football. It's not perfect, but it could be a nice resource over the next weeks.

Alabama reports 5 returning players reporting to campus tested positive. One of them participated in drills with other players. Haven’t read what UA officials are doing in response.

UConn has cancelled their marching band for the Fall. This decision was made by the school - not the Band Directors. Will the school be able to justify cancelling the Band (who can be kept at 3-step intervals) due to health concerns and allow the football team to travel and play a contact sport?

Asymptomatic transmission seems to be unlikely and only a rare source of transmission.

Was just about to post this. If asymptomatic transmission is rare this really seems like a gamechanger for a lot of things. My test test test theory might not quite be as required 04-cheers.

This would be great news, if true, and confirmed by other reliable sources.
That said, however, wasn't WHO lambasted by the administration for their early handling of the virus outbreak? And wasn't WHO recently scheduled to be defunded by the U.S. government over disagreements about various elements of its activities?

I'm a believer in science, our own CDC, and WHO, and I'm also inclined to follow their lead on how best to combat infectious diseases. That said, a person could get whiplash from the administration's agenda-driven approach in asking us regular folk what scientific information from WHO (or the CDC) is to be believed, and what scientific information is to be discarded, ignored, or defunded.

Agreed on all accounts. I to just keep the thread updated with new information as it comes it. It's possible this could be wrong.

Like all of the falsified studies that were done on chloroquine.

“They’re not finding secondary transmission onward. It’s very rare...It appears to be rare that an asymptomatic individual actually transmits onward.”

GAME ON!! In other words, there was never a reason to wear masks or stay 6 feet away unless you were sick. There was no reason to shut down anything. If you're sick, stay home. Everyone else, I'll see you at the game!

it seems pretty clear those that need to isolate or be protected -

- LTC facilities
- the immunce compromised
- the unhealthy
- prisons
- meat processing plants
- any other cramped living or working environment

for the rest of the generally health popluation, and especially the young, the risk appears very minimal. when you look at europe, this is what you see. they are 3-4 weeks ahead of us.

lets see where we are at the end of June, but it appears to me that we are on the backside of this.

Bill is Will Ferrell in Old School streaking the quad, assuming everyone is behind him.

https://www.axios.com/who-coronavirus-as...50764.html

Quote:"Some modeling studies suggest 40-60% of spread is from people when they didn’t have symptoms," tweeted Ashish Jha, incoming dean at the Brown School of Public Health.

Singapore's coronavirus task force also said Monday that it believes half of the country's new COVID-19 cases are asymptomatic based on testing data, Reuters reports.

Van Kerkhove later tweeted a statement that cited a June summary by the WHO on symptomatic, pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic transmission:
"Comprehensive studies on transmission from asymptomatic individuals are difficult to conduct, but the available evidence from contact tracing reported by Member States suggests that asymptomatically-infected individuals are much less likely to transmit the virus than those who develop symptoms."

Is this news from WHO promising? Of course it is. But settle down, Billy Boy. There’s a lot of work and research left to do.

Your cheeky little comment doesn't change what the WHO is admitting here. No need for anyone to get behind me, but if you are, and I'm asymptomatic and I sneeze without covering my mouth and the wind blows my sneeze in your face, relax, you'll be fine. And there is no reason to cancel college sports this year!

Bingo!

Personally, I believe the WHO is a corrupt organization that is pandering for those American dollars they need so badly. They have been wrong, wrong, wrong from the jump! And, now we are supposed to believe that they just discovered this game-changing news. GMAFB!

Wait...what? Bill just said we’ll all be fine because of what WHO just said. And then you said “Bingo!” as if to agree. ...And then you said WHO has been wrong the whole time and we shouldn’t believe them.

RE: Will pro and college sports be cancelled this Fall?
It's funny and yet idiotic at the same time to watch folks grasp at anything - even when 180 degrees from past commentary - to support their point. 2 cases just recently in this thread for example...

1. Constantly making the claim that young people have nothing to worry about with regards to this virus and we shouldn't shut down the economy considering this. Then, when many thousands of protesters hit the streets (with likely 90+% of them under the age of 35), all of a sudden social distancing is a big deal. Make up your mind. 01-wingedeagle

2. The World Health Organization is a joke. We are right to withdraw money to them. Booooo on WHO! (hey, it rhymes!) WHO is evil. Wait, what's that? WHO just released some info that might support my case? Well, hell yes. Let's run around and quote that as evidence we shouldn't have shut down the economy. Make up your mind. 01-wingedeagle

(note, in reports this morning, WHO plans to release more information to clarify their commentary from yesterday as apparently the confusion created isn't as cut and dry as some are interpreting...but, we knew that already right? after all, WHO is evil and we shouldn't be giving them any money and can't believe anything they say...well, except when it somehow supports our arguments 01-wingedeagle)

I think it is ironic that when you a have a perfect opportunity to hide your identity with a mask when you are looting and burning things down that you fail to do so.
