Tulane taking care of business will be a deciding factor in the success of the conference this year.....time for WF to take a leap forward.
The best case scenario for our conference isn't necessarily that we have the most wins or even a winning record. In a year where we don’t expect to win more than we lose against P5 teams we need to win the ones that matter.
The best case scenario is that we have two undefeated teams at the end of the year and that the OOC teams those two beat somehow end up in their respective conference championship games, maybe one even winning. So...
Houston beats Wazzou and they somehow make the Pac 12 game.
SMU beats TCU and they somehow make the Big XII game.
UCF beats UNC and Ga Tech and they somehow make the ACC game, and
Cincy beats Nebraska and they somehow make their game.
Those are the best scenarios, IMO, of both the AAC team winning and the P5 opponent making their CCG. Memphis should beat Purdue but I don't think Purdue makes it to the Big 10 CG. I can see ECU beating USCe but the gamecocks aren't going to the SEC CG. I don't think Temple beats Miami or USF beats UT, no offense.
UCF winning and UNC facing Clemson in the CCG is the most likely, IMHO.
But we need more traction leading us to a CFP participant, and that's how we get it, I think.
