Penny continues to do what Penny does: GRIND! He has taken so much s#!+ from the NCAA and even occasionally from Tiger fans. I'm so glad he continues to stick it out. He puts in crazy effort and hours.

Wiseman was major.

Recruiting this year went awry with the G league throwing new obstacles, 500k obstacles. He STILL wrapped up a nice off season with Rand (Juco), Nolley and DW coming in as major transfers.

He continues to do great interviews, keeping MEMPHIS in the national spotlight. I enjoyed this interview on Showtime Basketball. I'll post a link here so you can enjoy as well:

Trying to understand, does our recruiting class for this year consist of a juco transfer and walk on?

And a couple of transfers that have to sit for a year, if they actually make it to campus or the ncaa allows our transfers to play, like the big schools?

Thanks for the video. That was awesome. Penny has such a way of speaking - shoots straight, respectful, funny, and says it like it is. Loved it!

I iiked the NCAA comments by all three. True, Wiseman was an innocent third party and to penalize him for the supposed violations committed by Penny and his mother is absurd. I hope after he gets drafted that he takes some of that money and finds a good lawyer and sues the NCAA for damages. They caused him to miss out on playing college and tournament basketball, loss of TV and press exposure, damaged his reputation, caused him to lose potential All American and All AAC honors, needless emotional distress, etc, etc. I think he would have a great case for a jury trial.

Unfortunately he folded when it mattered. I doubt he follows up on it now. He had them but he willingly have his case up and left Memphis on the hook for honoring his court order.

Actually, you're first to mention Final Four. What's the purpose? We all know what this program can be. We all also know where it was when Penny took over. And now, despite MUCH adversity/BS, Penny still has us bringing in quality talent. He game plans well and he gets the most out his guys.

What more would you like?

In the grimmest, most point blank way, you are correct.

I'm hopeful that both DW and LN can be cleared. Their situations are good cases. DW was recruited/coached by Walter McCarty who was fired by the university (Evansville) in Jan for Sexual Misconduct (maybe diff wording) for relations with a female student. He transferred.

LN has been screwed over by the NCAA during his initial clearance. He stuck it out and had 1 year of his eligibility ruined (redshirt year). He stayed with VT, despite his recruiter/coach Buzz Williams leaving for Tex AM. He, however, tried to play for hi for 1 year. Now he is transferring.

2 good cases for clearance. We'll see. Deep down I think the NCAA has a hard on for Penny and is out to show him "who's boss." It's BS but it is what it is, meaning yeah....you're prob right Bandwagon.

And yeah, Cisse needs to announce he's coming to MEMPHIS baby! I believe we are the front runner. I can see 1 particular individual at Laus having some LSU sway and surely Will Wade is throwing strong ass offers around. Some believe LSU isn't even top 2- Memphis, FSU....sounds familiar...…..hope he ALSO chooses us.
