RE: FB Class of 2021
Athletic department revenue and program perception are important, yes. I'm told by someone well-placed in the UC athletic department that UC football season ticket holders total 8500 +4000 student season ticket holders =12,500. Coming off 2 eleven-win seasons, this is really quite disappointing. No reason why at this point and with the outlook for the upcoming season that we shouldn't be up to at least 20,000 season ticket holders. It's going to be difficult to keep Coach Fickell if he doesn't see growing momentum and appreciation for the product he is putting on the field, not to mention growing recognition he and his team are getting in the wider Cincinnati and OKI area. Of course, a huge part of that momentum is that ticket sales, merchandise sales and bowl appearances bring in the revenue that gives UC the wherewithal to keep his salary and his assistants' compensation pool competitive.

Holders or tickets? I am a holder of more than one ticket.

AD said today 4k student + season tickets was 50% of capacity. So 16k season tickets.

And you know damn well that the Spring Game is when they usually start their push for new tickets. Unfortunately with COVID-19 that never happened and now people are worried about jobs and such. I think 16k already sold is a good thing.

I mean, there's a pandemic going on. I'll be in my seats no matter what if the season occurs but I see no reason to make my deposit now.

That might be the max we can have in the stadium anyway if social distancing measures are in place. Better to have some fans than none at all though.

Just judging by his offers he's an extremely intelligent and disciplined individual.

Good size for a wideout. Looks to be in the Alec Pierce mold. I wouldn't be surprised if they give him a look at outside lb as well. at 6'4 with great athleticism he can probably beef up to 230 or so.

Looks like he was an All-State Safety last year as a Junior in 5-A (Largest Division) in Pennsylvania and the "UC'ing" tweet had Black and Red, meaning he is being recruited as an offense-defense guy.

I watched some highlights and this kid is awesome. 6'4", fast, physical and shifty. I know it's tough to judge HS FB competition in a highlight video but how is this kid not rated by 247/Rivals?

Maybe future LB or DE? He's a defensive guy that likes to hit.

I love that Coach Fickell was the primary recruiter for him.

Think you will find that it’s difficult for 247, Rivals, and other recruiting services to update their rankings. Without the camp circuit and practices and such due to the pandemic they don’t have as much to go off to rank a lot of these kids out of the top 300, or so. I expect a lot of shuffling once they are able to start playing HS football again.

Yeah, this probably would've been the summer guys like him get a proper rating, as he likely would've been hitting the camp circuit hard. I have a feeling we're going to see a lot of very generic ratings unless someone really pops on film.

RE: FB Class of 2021
Getting a guy who has a 6'4" frame and was an all-state safety at the highest division of Pennsylvania football seems like a big win to me. Pennsylvania isn't quite Ohio in terms of talent, but it's still a big state with good high school football. And as has been mentioned, there are a lot of options in terms of what position he plays in college.

He was a two-way standout for the Warriors last season, catching 56 passes for 957 yards and 13 touchdowns at receiver, and recording 49 tackles – 10 for loss — with a sack and four interceptions.
He said Cincinnati is recruiting him as an “athlete” with the idea that he could slide in at either of those positions or linebacker.
Hard to understand a PA 5A All State guy not being at least 3*
I trust Luke's evaluation over 247.

Yea, this is where you see it’s not only about recruiting but also about player development once the recruits get in the door. Something I have faith in Fick knowing how to get the best out of people. I recall him being a part of several 3* prospects turning into early draft picks. If the players are willing to put forth the effort, we will see great results.

I’m sure he will be a 3* once 247 is able to evaluate him. It’s tough right now because they can’t evaluate in person via games, practices, or the camp circuit like they normally do. Once things open back up and he gets a proper evaluation I’m sure he will be a 3* prospect. Just a matter of how high or low IMO.
That said, I agree with your statement though that I also trust Fick’s eval over any of the services. His staff and him have definitely earned it.
