Kyle Adams is the incoming freshman, good chance he redshirts.
Jacob Knight, R-Fr set high school records and was on all star team.
Jake O'Donnell, R-So was on the US National team, and helped take a 5A Florida team to semifinals
Patrick Bentley, R-Jr transferred last year from Div II Alserson-Broaddus and ran the scout team last year.

Some of them could provide real competition to Cole and Gage in camp.

Billy Atkins, Qb in class of ‘21 commits.

Pro style Qb from Baltimore, Billy Adkins, commits to JMU.

Billy Atkins is a 2-star QB with notable FCS offers from William & Mary, Stony Brook, Towson, Richmond, Delaware, Rhode Island, Monmouth, Columbia.
FBS offer from Buffalo. Appeared to also receive interest from playoff team Holy Cross plus Cincinnati and ODU.

247 lists him as a Pro-Style QB which would make me think a position change isn’t likely an option and he is being recruited as a QB. Looks like he has been getting some offer momentum (almost every CAA team) recently and pulled the trigger on us. Happy to have him aboard! Looks like we will have a lot of QB’s on the roster potentially.

Many coaches take at least 1 QB every year and I believe Cigs is one of them. This kid is going to be a Freshman in 2021 when it’s only 1 other scholarship QB and a couple of walk-ons.

I agree with that. I do wonder if it means we are out of the running for some other 2021 guys I've seen such as Billy Edwards and Brady Olson. Regardless, excited for Atkins.

Brady Olson committed to UMass last night. Just speculation---But maybe, it came down to Atkins and Olson----JMU took Atkins commit, so Olson committed to UMass---Olson announced his commit after Atkins.

That being said----I think Atkins is a significantly better prospect---head and shoulders above Olson as a prospect.
Atkins is a very accurate pocket passer (he has great pocket presence). And he can throw accurately, and with a strong arm, on the run. But doesn't have the pro typical size of a pocket passer, and doesn't look very fast when scrambling. His Hudl says his school was #20 ranked in country, so I would assume he plays in a competitive league

Lot of variables - one plays in Baltimore I believe his team was ranked nationally and the other plays in Massachusetts where I believe the D1 talent and competition around him is different.

Just added a 3* LB from Haymarket, VA (Battlefield). According to his Twitter just 2 days ago he trimmed his list down to the final 12 (Army, Navy, Air Force, Harvard, Temple...). Earlier today he got his 25th offer in JMU and then verbaled.
