Also, my Dad is a Troy alumnus, so I wouldn't mind seeing that series from a personal standpoint.

I want UCF on the schedule post-haste. That kind of marquee G5 ooc matchup would likely be on a decent channel as well. Of course the game in Orlando has to be in November if you want a full App contingent 03-lmfao

Also would like Cincy/Memphis and Boise

UCF/GS would be a good series for both schools I think.

I believe UCF, Ga State, and Coastal are the closest G5 schools to Georgia Southern. We already play GAST and Coastal annually. It would be nice to get UCF on the schedule too.

We have Memphis H/H from 2020 to 2024. It was announced four more games H/H from 2025 to 2028. Very short distance series. Lot of history that Tiger High doesn't want to talk about and some for us too.

Man, I don't remember the last time we've had a Sun Belt team on our schedule. But I guess we need the money so we schedule P5 teams, and then an FCS team at home. Which leads to crap home scheduling most years, honestly. We could have interesting games against the Sun Belt though. When we had Carey as head coach we played like crap in bowl games so it wouldn't have mattered who we played, we would have lost. Not sure about the current coach yet.

RE: Non conference G5 games you want on the schedule
I thought I would return to this thread to discuss, this time, how pleased you are with the HOME games your AD has scheduled for football, going back five years and looking ahead as far as games are scheduled into the future.

I'm really pleased with App State has in place. Early in FBS, we had games scheduled for us against Wyoming, a H&H vs. UMass (home game is this year), and a H&H vs. Akron (the home game of which was later canceled). Those games I doubt were the average fan's most exciting matchup.

Aside from those, it has been great. We have had past or future home games vs. Miami, Wake Forest, UNC, SC, ECU, Xharlotte, and Marshall.

I'd pick the above named games over any MAC school, most if the MW, and most of C-USA.

I give our AD a 92/100, a solid A, for his scheduling in foorball.

How do you feel about your school's.

We only have one P5 currently scheduled in a H&H and that Ole Miss. that’s a good get, but would like to see more on the schedule. The games with UAb, Tulane and LaTech are good, the MAC games are really uninteresting, no one anything about those teams.

Notable OOC home games since 2015:

2015: USM
2016: UH
2017: UTSA
2018:
2019: Wyoming

Future Notable OOC Home games:
2020: SMU, UTSA, Ohio
2021: Baylor
2022:
2023: Nevada
2024: UTSA, Arizona State

Our AD has done a great job of getting us some attractive home opponents, the next 5 seasons are looking pretty good with the exception of 2022. We have FIU at home that year, but luckily that will be offset by playing at Baylor which is only about 2 hours from SM and more importantly only about 35 minutes from me.

The only OOC FBS home games we have scheduled at the moment are Liberty in 2021 and Army in 2023. So I’m gonna go with “not great”.

Our AD hasn't announced any football match ups since he's been in Statesboro. All our OOC games are from our old AD which we all know scheduling was one of his many weak points.

Careful, when UAb had no OOC games scheduled, they shut their party down for 3 years.

RE: Non conference G5 games you want on the schedule
For GS, it's hard to grade with the change in ADs, TK did a so-so job in my opinion;

2014 - only 5 home games, no OOC FBS opponent; but 2 near wins & easy travel @ NC State & GT that season (luck but happened)
2015 - Western Michigan at home (PJ Fleck coaches & 1st OOC FBS opponent; easy travel to UGA
2016 - 5 home games again; return game @ WMU, but easy travel to GT again & a fun trip to Ole Miss
2017 - only 5 home games; Fun/easy trip to Auburn, games @ UMass & IU
2018 - UMass at home (we have history); easy trip to Clemson, a trip to NMSU after dropped from the SBC (in some opinions, easy way to schedule)
2019 - $ games @ Minnesota & LSU; the return NMSU game at home 07-coffee3
2020 - Travel to Boise & Ole Miss; FAU comes to the Boro solid regional game/opponent
2021 - BYU in Paulson (the largest name OOC); games @ Arkansas & return game @ FAU
2022 - @ Nebraska & UAB (easy to get to & new stadium?); Ball St at home 07-coffee3
2023 - @ Wisconsin & return game @ Ball St; UAB at home good regional matchup
2024 - Boise returns the home game (great get); @ Ole Miss & return @ BYU
2025 - @ Fresno & start H/H with Liberty
2026 - Houston comes to the Boro (great get) & @ Liberty for return
2027 - @ Houston, return game
2028 - Fresno in the Boro return game

It took TK a while to get the hang of how to schedule OOC at the beginning & did a good job working to get BYU/Boise added to the schedule since they wanted to play Houston & we had them booked earlier.

Hoping to see that Benko matches & improves on OOC scheduling

I grew up in Orlando and had a lot of friends and a few in my family go to UCF. In fact my parents live about about 10 minutes from UCF's campus now. I have very fond memories of driving back to Orlando after the playoff win against UCF in the early 90's with my GS flags flying and waving to UCF fans (and a couple friends of mine that were at the game) on the way down I-95.

I'd love to get a rotation of games going and play each other every couple years.

Football scheduling is one of a few areas I give Teis high marks in. Can't really complain about what he's done in that regard.

In the last 5 years and in the future we've had/will have: Southern Miss, Houston, UTSA x 6, New Mexico State, Wyoming, SMU, Ohio, Baylor, FIU, Nevada, Arizona State, and Eastern Michigan.

We have SMU, UTSA, and Ohio all at home this season alone. Hard to find much to complain about (though some of our fans still do).

We have several money games and even an FCS game scheduled through 2025, but only 2 home-home series.

Add Tulane and UAB to this group to make 9 OCC teams. I would rather drop FCS game, and cycle through 3 of these every year along with 1 p5.

From a standpoint of competitiveness and SOS, I would love to see App play Boise State or Central Florida. CFU or even South Florida would be good for recruiting, but I could even like FIU or FAU for the same reason.
