Largest Average Attendance Increase from 2018 to 2019
There was a thread back in March about the attendance improvement. I thought about putting that there for a moment, but didn't want to bump an old thread that took a different direction from the OP. And I felt rankings were different enough to get its own thread. This PDF provides different attendance stats for last season. Here are the Top 10 for improvement over the 2018 season.
http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/football_r...e/2019.pdf
Code:
No. School Games Change in Avg.
1. Kansas 7 14,451
2. Memphis 7 8,638
3. Minnesota 7 8,275
4. Virginia 7 8,158
5. BYU 6 7,071
6. North Carolina 6 6,878
7. Cincinnati 6 5,466
8. Syracuse 6 5,121
9. Coastal Carolina 6 4,556
10. South Carolina 7 4,334
The PDF also contains numbers for all teams in each Division and each conference if you are interested in that as well.

Sure would like to crack that top 30! With the terrible records they have been having lately they only averaged 33k last year. Can you imagine attendance at the Liberty bowl if we had their record over the last 5 years?

Same here. It feels like a tease seeing the lower part of the top 30 overall and knowing what the Liberty Bowl can hold. And what were the numbers during Porter's couple years?
I went a step further and listed the numbers for the AP Top 25.

Who is "they"?
Proactive follow-up, why do we care about "them"?

We don't really have to imagine that hard. They've won 18 games over the past 5 years and averaged 33k last year, in year 5.
From 2009-13, we won only 12 games. In year 5 we averaged 29k in attendance.
Plus, I believe ECU is known for having a generous attendance reporting system. Memphis - not so much.
ECU used to have very strong attendance for a G5, and they backed it up with solid teams. Now, they are trending the wrong way. We are trending the right way - in attendance and quality.

Yep.
East Carolina is nothing more than Southern Miss but with a better league affiliation.
