Was thinking the same, but it's creeping into my mind we may not have a full season at NIU. Just the thought of that prevents transfers from putting NIU on their list.

I would hope we get a transfer or two of our own with these roster spots open.
Good point. Maybe there are some talented players out there from Illinois who initially chose to go elsewhere and want to come home and finish up with family and friends around.

There is an o lineman leaving Iowa after just one year there. He’s from crystal lake and we offered him out of high school. Wouldn’t be surprised if we go after him.

I wonder if they see Pritzker’s phases and are worried NIU won’t play football, so they’re trying to transfer to a state where the chance of playing football is higher, so they don’t risk missing out on their final year.
I think Pritzker's 5 phase plan has really spooked a lot of players. Most of these guys only have 1 year left to play football. They can not take the chance of Illinois not being open for the fall period. The reason that it is mostly starters is they are 20/21 yr. old kids who still have dreams of playing in the NFL. Their time frame is IMMEDIATE/NOW. JMHO!!

Maybe they just graduated or finished the semester then made it official to leave. I can only imagine these decisions were made a ling while ago.

This is very true. The three of them are grad transfers. Sorry y'all. By year 4 of 5 at NIU, I was ready to bounce too. But didn't lol.

71% approval of handling of covid says you're wrong.
Bottom line, guys who get diplomas before their eligibility is up are going to leave.

71%??? Who did they poll? Mike Madigan and Lightfoot? There’s a lot of disgruntled people now because they are starting to see that this has turned political. If you think JB has your health in his best interest I have some swamp land to sell you. The hospital system I work for releases COVID hospitalizations on a daily basis. We have been on the decline since late April. Makes you wonder where JB is getting his “surge” numbers from.

I wonder, but I don't think you can extrapolate one hospital system to the entire state.

When that hospital system has several around the Chicagoland area from the city to the suburbs to down south it gives a good glimpse of the overall picture.

You noisy 29%ers need to take it to a political forum. To say Pritzker is intentionally cutting millions of state tax revenue for anything other than protecting the public is ignorant. He even says everyday we’re moving in the direction of the next phase for all regions.

Really surprised at Lorbeck leaving though. Heflin will have options, not so sure Lorbeck will have tons of options to choose from like Heflin does.
I really hope Hammock is looking JUCO to fill one of the holes on the DL.
