Well, I suppose Siddle made an impression, but I didn't think about NCST having an open scholarship with Josh Hall declaring. He committed to Keatts this afternoon.
I thought you said "good " P5 interest hahaha
There was a long list: Maryland, Cuse, Providence and L'ville reached out late. I'm sure being close to home made a difference for him; it is an interesting fit though. I wonder if he'll RS next year.

I know, i was just poking fun. I never used to poke at State until KK went there.

I'm glad we're finding common ground here. I actually like them more now he's there, but he's their only redeeming quality for me (and the connections he brought with him).

Although this didn't work out, it shows you where Siddle is. He went after a big who could have played this fall. That also means he is recruting as though he still has one scholarship available.
Hope he had a plan B.

I'm sure he's hitting it hard looking for a big man. This was a potential gift that came when Manning was fired. Give him credit for trying.
I’ll give him credit when he wins. Until then I’m cautiously optimistic.

It's recruiting so there is no way to force a recruit to attend. I agree we'll see, but this offer let me know what his intentions are when it comes to a big man immediately available. Looks to me like he isn't going to settle and waste a scholarship on a stiff just because they have size. Still looking for quality.

RE: Basketball Recruit Updates
He would have been a good fit for UNCW, but he chose to play at State. You can't blame the young man for sticking close to home here even if he may RS. And, like 82 was saying, he's trying to get the best fit for our need. Hopefully something will open us for the last grant and rest assured, it will be for a big. The current roster that has a lot of potential 1-4, and even 5 for 25 minutues with the way that they play, but they need 1 more big to round it out. All of us lifers know this as does the coach.
You could make the case for Bowden if he put on 20 lbs or Boggs if he put on 25 lbs, but they are not natural post players. I would think Bowden more than Boggs as the backup center to Dodd at this point judging by how they play their games because Boggs is really a 3/4 type to me at best even at 6'8". Boggs can be a 4 man in this system to me. Sims can be a 4 man in this system or an athletic 3 man because he can defend and meet the deflections quota (and there will be a team deflection quota) for sure. Okura is an excellent fit as well at 2/3 and can defend well. You have Ty, Brian and Estime so there are multiple weapons at the 2/3 as well. We just need an athletic 6'8 to 6'10 guy that can defend and board right about now. There is time believe it or not so all hope is not lost.
This is assuming that we get to cheer for our team next year because until we get a vaccine, nothing is certain at this point for next year, but they may still play without many fans. It won't be forever guys and the following year should be good to go with bigs for sure! Let's hope for the best!

UNCW already had their man at SF. Hawks need a big. What if another "Crime Dog" Preston McGriff became available? That would be a great fit about now.

RE: Basketball Recruit Updates
Siddle is going to have to scour high and low for a big to play next year. If you look at the transfer portal there are only a few big men who could play immediately. College students are just finishing up the year, so i'm hoping there will be more available once they are done with finals and done with classes. That goes for JUCO players as well. If we haven't signed a big by mid June i'll be concerned.

I’m new here but wow what a get for Siddle. Arkansas was recruiting him as a transfer as well
Guard that will have to sit a year. Very talented and a good get; Patriot League ROY last year.
Pridgen scored 20-plus points 14 times, including 30-plus points twice. In the Crusaders’ only game against a ranked team — at then-No. 7 Maryland in the season opener on Nov. 5 — Pridgen had 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists in a 96-71 loss.
Barring an NCAA hardship waiver for immediate playing eligibility or a rules change to grant first-time transfers a one-time waiver for immediate eligibility, Pridgen will sit out a transfer-redshirt season in 2020-21 with three years to play beginning in ’21-22.

Looks to have old school game with some new age moves like a good Euro. He doesn’t look to shoot the 3 that much but had pretty high rebound average. Interesting player but not the big many here wanted. It’s always good however to get capable players.

Looks like a GREAT get, but at the same time it looks like we’re not in ideal position for next year.

Does this take up our final roster spot next year? Looks like a really really good player but doesn’t fit the mold of our current needs.

Hard to be mad about landing a guy who averaged 17 & 7 as a freshman. Looks like Steere's waiver will determine how much of a contender we are next season. Side note, I wonder if this may lead to one of the bigger guards transferring out. We are stacked at the 3/4 position.
