Atlantic 10 announces it will reduce schedules 25% in field hockey, volleyball, men’s & women’s soccer, baseball, softball & women’s lacrosse; and is reducing conference championships in volleyball, men’s & women’s soccer, baseball, softball & women’s lacrosse to only top 4 teams

I'd be shocked if we don't see something similar from the AAC and Big East soon.

Was just about to post the same...saved them $500,000/year. With all of the travel that northern programs have to do in the early spring as well as the significant physical space taken up by them, I wouldn't be shocked to see quite a few other cash-strapped athletics departments force baseball to take the dive too.

Except for FB, MBB (BB at some schools) and enough women's sports to satisfy PC Title 9 all other sports should be Club Type Sports. The school provides a couple part time coaches, uniforms and bus transport to play nearby opponents.

The NCAA doesn't allow that...a school must maintain at least 16 sports to retain FBS designation. Fun little way to force smaller schools into not being able to pool funds.
