Coronavirus was weaponized by China to destroy the economy to hurt Trump come election.
Democrat ran states are locked down, illegally at that.
It's not about fear of an overhyped flu virus. It's political warfare.
The "new norm".
I am a Conservative Republican and have heard several comments on the accusation that states with Democrat Governors are going to stay in lock down while states with Republican governors want to open up their states. This is NOT TRUE. All you have to do is a little research and see that there is no correlation between Democrat governors wanting extended lock downs. Just Google state lock down dates and match it up with the state governor's political affiliation and you will quickly see there is no correlation. Each Governor is making their own decision based on their situation.
As someone else pointed out, that's simply NOT TRUE.
I've accumulated quite a large spreadsheet of COVID facts over the past few weeks. I'm a geek that way. One thing I track is state metrics, reopening, and the associated politics.
I use retail and restaurants as the benchmark of a state "reopening". Most already allow essential other businesses, and "essential" is loosely defined. If a state allows retail stores to reopen and diners in restaurants, then that largely indicates most of the state has reopened.
Out of 51 states (including DC - I know it's not a state), 24 have reopened using this definition.
18 of those states have Republican governors.
5 have Democrat governors.
1 has a Dem governor who wanted to remain closed, but lost a lawsuit to Republican lawmakers and had to reopen.
20 states are still closed.
17 have Dem governors.
3 have Rep governors.
The remaining 7 states are partially reopened (retail open, restaurants closed). Those states are split between D/R at 3/4.
It's a nice soundbite to say that politics are not involved. But the data indicates otherwise.
