Brett McMurphy tweets:

Arkansas AD Hunter Yurachek tells Board of Trustees, Razorbacks will start football practice mid-July & begin season Sept. 5, @SusanElKhoury reports

Now granted, the CAA isn’t the SEC (even though it’s probably the SEC of the FCS), but this seems like some hope for the season beginning.

2020 Tribe Football
I think it will be a state by state thing, not a team by team or conference by conference thing. It will definitely lead to headaches in getting everyone synched up. I may be wrong, but if a college and/or state is still shut down, are the players permitted to practice or even be on campus?
I would imagine restrictions in the rural SEC south will be relaxed before urban schools in regions hit much harder. That said, latest projections have the COVID-19 daily death counts rising through June. With pressure on states to reopen, there is no telling what things will like this summer.

Let's add them! Sweet revenge from the 1946 Dixie Bowl!!

if you ever visit Fayetteville AR, they have a football museum in the end zone there. Once of the big case displays is their 1946 Dixie Bowl trophy noting the game and score against W&M.

Worth a visit.

PS: JMU SUCKS!! (Hi Hyper!)

Dan Patrick said he heard plan is for ten game schedule this season, with all FCS/FBS openers cancelled across the country. PAC 10 likely most affected out of all P5 conferences. Stanford game is like 99% not happening folks.

RE: 2020 Tribe Football
Double penalty for W&M losing, if it eventuates, the Stanford game.

This was set up yo be a large W&M Pacific Coast Homecoming game for the College...with hundreds of West Coast alums already registered to attend big week of special events in S.F. and staying at Fairmont Hotel as part of "For the Bold" fund raising effort.
They expected more than a thousand W&M alums at the Stanford game.

Let's hope game might be rescheduled for another season.

I have no inside information, but Shon Mitchell is following Central Connecticut State’s football account on twitter, and has “CCSU” listed in his bio.

Hmm. That would be an interesting choice.

Looks like the QB graduated. He was a three year letter winner and grad transfer.

That said, I hope it works out for Shon. He was a pretty highly rated recruit, shame it didn't quite pan out here.

He is definitely going to Central Connecticut. Saw him a week or so ago and he confirmed it. I wish him the best. Fine young man.

RE: 2020 Tribe Football
I could be wrong, but since he only played in 3 games this year he might have 2 years of eligibility left for them.

CCSU won the NEC pretty easily last year, but got crushed by Albany in round 1 of the playoffs. They're kind of an odd fit in the conference, as a it's the only public school in a conference with a lot of small private schools.

I think - but could be wrong - that this past incoming freshman class and going forward is able to benefit from the rule about 4 (?) games or less and you can still redshirt. I don't think it is retroactive to prior classes.

Of course, the medical redshirt rule is still is still applicable to all classes.
