RE: Want to get pumped back up?
Watching the Admiral during his years at Navy. His timing and agility for shot-blocking approached Russell's. He holds the NCAA record for blocks in a season (207).

He was more slender in college than he was by the end of his career. By the time he retired from the NBA his biceps were so large they were almost bizarre-looking.

Obviously, Robinson was the focus of the Navy team, but he was not the only player they had. Their point guard was Doug Wojcik, who was later the coach at Tulsa and other places.

Robinson wasn't just a power player on the inside (although some of his dunks were highlights). His jumper from 15 feet was almost automatic.

Notre Dame vs. DePaul in 1987. David Rivers was still a pretty slick player.

Watching Temple-St. Joe from 1987 in the Palestra. Stands looks jam packed.
Bruiser Flint was a player.

Watching Kansas-Georgetown, and one of the teams just hit their first 3-pointer with 4:16 left in the half. Rarely see that today. You would be more likely to see a team not make a 2-pointer until that point.

Yep. And he was outplayed by UALR freshman, Paul Springer, the year before.

Didn't Rivers foul out?

RE: Want to get pumped back up?
Yesterday I watched the NC-Arkansas game that was played in Pine Bluff during the Kleine days. That was a terrible venue to have a national TV game. Players couldn't completely get their feet out of bounds beside the benches.

I had forgotten just how good Big Joe was in college. Nothing flashy about him, but he made his shots, and you weren't going to move him out. I remember after they lost to Georgetown during the Ewing days, one of the DC writers described him as "6-11, 255 pounds, and every inch of it is either muscle or mean."

I thoroughly enjoy watching that game. I did not notice an issue with the sidelines, I will have to go watch it again.

Where does one find the link to watch that game?

I'm having my own personal Big Dance, and I get to pick the teams that are in it. Really fun.

Watching Seton Hall beat Duke (always enjoyable) in the 1989 Final Four. The Hall had a player named Daryll Walker.

Watching South Alabama take Michigan down to the wire in the second round in 1989. Ronnie Arrow was coach. They had a pretty salty team.

RE: Want to get pumped back up?
There is even a video of the 1956 finals between Russell's USF team and Iowa, when he is supposed to have had a 27/26/20 triple/double. There is no sound and the film quality is not great, so it is a little hard to follow.

RE: Want to get pumped back up?
One of the commentators noted how a lot of players started trying to knock the ball out of the driving player's hands on the way up instead of trying to block it at the top. And if they are going up for a layup, that can easily happen. Not so much with a dunk, if you have it firmly gripped in both hands.
