2023 ACC Tournament In Greensboro
I'm delighted to see this. After what happened this year, Greensboro deserves it.

I'm not thrilled, but neither would I deny them this... very understandable, given what happened to the 2020 tournament.

Great news. I'm glad I was able to enjoy the first two days this past season. Luckily I was not in attendance during the final UNC game, but was appropriately at a local watering hole.

My heart is with DC or Brooklyn...much better homes for basketball in this time and age of the ACC

Only fair to give it to Greensboro this one time.

Agreed. Greensboro is a horrible destination. It's Columbia, SC without the world class zoo and Live PD.

Everyone pretty much outside the NC gang think that...but make Greensboro one last time in 2023.

Charlotte, DC, NYC works... occasionally Atlanta for variety.

Maybe go to Florida too (Orlando or Tampa). Some of the college kids might be on spring break. Florida State's good now. And if you're going to New York/Brooklyn which has no ACC teams anywhere nearby why not Philadelphia? The only men's tournament we've seen for decades has been the 4 team Ivy League one for one year. But of the two North Carolina sites Charlotte is a much newer arena. So is Raleigh not I'm guessing they'll never let them host since it's NC State's arena.

There's a reason Florida hasn't been brought up for consideration again.

FWIW, the A10 was in Philly (and Atlantic City) less than two decades ago.

No, you're just in the minority that immediately drives to their hotel room after the evening's last game to go to bed.

You know why bowls games in Shreveport aren't universally popular? Same reason as basketball tournaments in Greensboro.

That said, going to these types of locations once (or maybe even twice) is ok, they each have their own unique things, but after that it tends to get stale.

I was at the tournament when it was held in Tampa. Few FSU fans were in attendance and virtually no Miami fans. There was almost zero local buzz for the tournament. I think the universal attitude after the tournament in Tampa was "never again".

You can say what you like about Greensboro but the local buzz for the ACC Tournament is off the charts in Greensboro. I wish there was somewhere else we could get that kind of excitement. Well, Raleigh would give you that kind of local excitement but I doubt we'll get a majority of ACC schools willing to vote for that.

In 2007, Florida State was seeded 9th and made the NIT and Miami was dead last and sub .500. Georgia Tech, who is one state away, was seeded 6th and made the NCAA's but was one and done. Certainly if you based it on recent years FSU would be way better. Would FSU fans pack Tampa (or Orlando) more than they did back then? I'd guess so although admittedly it would be a gamble. I'd try Atlanta first at least.
