RE: Realistic fall football timelines?
The only wisdom I can offer is some advice I got many years ago at the Paperback Grotto. It was on a sign by the door as you leave. The sign said, "Before you leave, wash your hands with strong lye soap. Scrub hard because no one wants to share your body fluids." I committed that to memory and have lived by that advice ever since.

I've got to still laugh every time I read your Grotto posts.

I probably said it long ago, but my roommate in college worked the register. We would always kid him he had to clean up and he would get really defensive. We used to go in there after AMEX if he was working late and give him crap.

He's now a captain on CPD. What a stepping stone the Paperback Grotto was for him.03-lmfao

Look at bright side, NIU can play all home games, attendance figures will allow for adequate social distancing in stands

This is exactly the right take. Life will not be "normal" until there is a vaccine or enough of us have been infected AND they can prove that infection equals immunity.

You would have to chain me down or kill me first before I'd take a vaccine for this thing. Somehow I dont trust Bill Gates enough for that

False rumors about Bill Gates and other craziness that a known fan believes or likes spreading

Not to distract you from your non-NIU, non-Huskie, off-the-wall non-sports discussion, but I posted this on the main csnbbs board and am repeating it here ... if there is no fall 2020 football, how about playing the 4 o-o-c games in spring 2021 and the full conference in the fall of 2021? Avoids problems with trying to play the fall 2020 schedule in spring 2021 and then a full season in fall 2021, with only 2-3 months to heal up and prepare in between. Apparently, some schools are studying the idea (see ACC thread on csnbbs conference board).

I heard this is gaining steam. There are a few articles around. Kinda makes sense. Maybe I'm a simpleton, but I could see school starting in January across the country, going to school straight through 2022. Problem is the whole country, some right or wrong, may not be on board. I just don't see how any sport, any level, starts where if someone gets infected the whole program and recent competitors basically can't compete.

The logistics work but the part I wonder about is Spring and fall are the beginnings of virus season. Cool environments that viruses thrive in. From a safety standpoint, playing in the summer is the best strategy. It’s why MLB was toying with having all their games in the Arizona heat.

To be fair I deleted all 3 of the most egregious Bill Gates/WHO related posts, which had no place in this thread or in the normal threads.

Only conservative views are being targeted here. This is pretty ridiculous. Welcome to China I guess. How can Big Man and NIU007 not have warning levels when all they do is post political rants

I think the spring traction is dependent on the assumption of a vaccine that might be available then but won’t this fall.

Big Man and NIU007 followed the rules; they posted in Sprayed and Neutered, whereas you didn't, and posted political bating posts here in a normal thread, after I said to all to stop. You know full well that I did nothing regarding your and other political posts (regardless of the political viewpoint) in the Sprayed and Neutered Corona Virus thread.

I was being conservative. 03-wink

You would need a symptom blocker at minimum like they do for HIV. I really don't season matters as much as science. I think MLB was just trying to be centralized area with fields and basically keep players under quarantine.

I watched church on my computer today like I have for the past month. I truly did not realize that was a depiction of you that was nailed to the cross above the altar.

I bought my Yamaha at a place in Homewood on Halsted in 90 or 91.They gave me like $150 gift cert. something to Hegewisch Records. I remember getting 12 cd's and pretty sure this was one of them lol.

Still got the stereo and all my cd's, just haven't hooked my stereo up in like 8 years. Just play my bluetooth and work system. I still got tapes too lol. In fact, I think I'm going to play one for for the 1st time in years tomorrow on a boombox I play baseball games on during work lol. Some Who (not to be confused with WHO these days) bootlegs from the 70's I taped from the vinyls I have. Ah, those metal/chrome tapes. 03-cloud9

What's a cd? wait...it's coming back to me....

03-cloud9
