Fall semester
I saw an article stating that many major colleges are looking at having only online classes for the Fall semester. It's still about 4 months until classes start in August, but certainly a decision will have to be made a couple of months in advance. So there is still some time, but really not that much. I think it is a safe assumption that if there are no students on campus there won't be any sports either.

RE: Fall semester
The commissioners of the nation’s major college football conferences held a 30-minute conference call Wednesday with Vice President Mike Pence and stressed that college sports cannot return from the coronavirus shutdown until campuses have reopened.

Doesn't really answer the question about reopening colleges, but does make it clear that if colleges aren't open there will be no college sports.

Not sure how midmajor programs like us could survive this.

Apparently we are going to get a big clue on where we are likely to be headed with the fall sports when the U of A makes it’s announcement about the status of fall classes around June 1.

We'll have a month to see how the "reopening" goes. If it goes well, maybe colleges will feel comfortable starting up in the Fall. But, there is still a big difference with a limited reopening and college students sitting in large lecture halls, living in close quarters in dorms, or squeezing into Frat houses for keg parties. It may well vary by State, but I believe many colleges will chose to limit students to online classes in the Fall. Even if things look much better this summer, the danger is a "second wave" in the Fall. Calling off classes 2 months in, would be worse for colleges than just going online from the start. Really interesting to see what Arkansas does, since we are still one of the least infected states (at least based on limited testing).

In this part of the state it is almost non-existent.

Pray that it stays that way, or really is, since with such limited testing that has been done and infected people can show no symptoms.

RE: Fall semester
No time to let our guard down. There weren't many cases in South Dakota, either, until over 600 cases showed up at the Smithfield pork factory.
