NOT SUSTAINABLE
That is a low number. Some people can not file due to the load. Daughter has been trying for a week.
Yeah, my daughter got laid off from her job and she hasn't even tried to file yet. Waiting for the system to hopefully free up a bit.

And the virtue signaling ******** around here are raising money to pay mortgages of nurses and first responders. Look, I appreciate them as much as anyone, but they are still collecting a paycheck and aren't losing their job. Like hell am I donating a penny to that when so many are without any income.

He isn't wrong. The numbers are irrelevant because there is a clear end to this in sight and this was not caused by bad economic policies. The underlying economic strength of the US economy is still there, hell it might even improve more as we bring more manufacturing back from China.
The other option is that this is much, much worse than we have been told and have been able to ascertain from the sick so far. He still isn't wrong because if that's the case then the unemployment numbers aren't relevant in a post-apocalyptic world.
Until it becomes 100% clear that this virus won't go away and the medical system collapses, there is little reason to believe that the majority of people filing claims will be able to get their same job back in short order.

Democrats had access to the same experts Trump had access to. Where was the competing Democrat plan of action? Answer---Democrats didnt care. In fact---they campaigned against the Chinese travel ban calling it racist and were not worried about the pandemic---instead they were obsessed with possible additional ways to investigate Trump.
What were the Democrats Really really worried about while this was building in late 2019 when evidence of the pandemic began to leak out of China? Answer---Investigating whether Ukrainian aid was delayed for a few weeks.
During an emergency crisis---when America needed fast action last weekend----where was the Democrat controlled House? Answer--On vacation.
Are the Democrats running a candidate the American people can rely on in a crisis? Answer---No. Its absolutely frightening to think what this would be like with Slow Joe's degenerating mental abilities in charge. The fact is, no American can say that the team we see every evening in the Covid-19 White House briefing is not competent and confidence inspiring. We have solid leadership. Americans could never have confidence in Slow Joes doddering fumbilng stumbling dementia fueled ramblings that trail off into nothingness. The election hasn't happened yet---but it is already over. Americans are getting a searing reminder that the ability to actually do the job competently matters.
The reality is---In a time of crisis, the Democrats have failed America because they were too busy figuring out a way to "create a political narrative" that they failed to see the coming danger (and actually undermined efforts to stop the danger from reaching our shores)---and then failed to govern once the crisis was upon us. A crisis is about competence---not politics and false narratives. Thats why the Trump numbers are rising while the Democrats are falling.

Brookings research concludes that leisure and hospitality jobs are most at risk due to the coronavirus pandemic. And it makes perfect sense given that millions around the country are self-quarantining and avoiding normal leisurely activities. More than 11% of all jobs in the US fit into that category.
(Source: brookings.edu)
Now, these figures are preliminary estimates, and a lot of things can and will change as this event evolves, so take these numbers with a great big grain of salt.
