JMU lost "a heartbreaker" to Drexel in the CAA Championship Game. However JMU still got an at-large bid.

Runner up JMU got the #11 seed and knocked off #6 Ohio State. They also knocked off #3 Mississippi State to get to the Sweet 16 before falling to Stanford in the Dallas Regional.

Anyway, it was a great fake postseason for the CAA in Women's Basketball.

Since the tournament was canceled, no bracketing was actually done so no. We do not get tournament money or a tournament appearance. Had the NCAA announced a field, I think we would have got money for making (us and the conference), even if no games played.

In fact I think there was an article out a bit ago stating how coaches would lose out on for not collecting bonus for achievements like wins, qualifying for the tournament etc. This was for the men, but its not different for the women

it might have been good in a way that things ended like they did. i would've put our chances to beat jmu at no more than about 40%. another loss in the title game would've been awful for this group and they seem like nice ladies in general. they didn't deserve that again.

i found a youtube video of the title game when we beat jmu. i don't think you can overstate how great marginean was.

The fun part about all of this is that it's all in our heads as to thinking about how it might have played out. If you want to to play out the scenario in your head of W&M winning the championship, then be my guest.

I am aware, but I also don't agree with it. Teams earned the right for a bracket or at least teams to be announced and schools and coaches paid for their achievement. I am fully expecting some lawsuits against the NCAA (from the men's side) trying to get some of that money.

But if the tournament was cancelled and none of the revenue was generated, I don't see how the NCAA can distribute tournament money that's not there to begin with. This is just another example of how this virus is screwing over just about everybody.

Pretty sure they get tv contract money as guaranteed. I could be wrong. All depends how that contract was written up. I am sure if it wasnt they settled on some amount to avoid litigation
