I agree with the Answer Man lack of player development has been a major issue. I would dare say a few players have regressed from freshman to junior year.

Honestly everything about Eshan's stint was terrible, outside recruiting as he recovered well there.

So has Rongie Gordon actually signed with us? Any rumors of him wanting to leave since we have a new coach?

I have felt for years the game has changed and UAB hasn’t changed with it. I agree with previous posts that we have been missing that three-point shooter for years. Perhaps it was just the style of our last two coaches, but it put us at a disadvantage. I hope AK is able to recruit an outside threat ASAP.

Multiple outside threats. We need to be taking, and making, lots of threes

Whether he knew it or not, Anderson was ahead of the curve with pace and three-point shooting. Can't really say the same for Davis's overall style of play, but having Vaden follow you from Indiana really helps. I do seem to remember a lot of corner threes in Davis's system, so maybe he was a step ahead of the game after all.

Even when Haase was winning, I never liked what we were doing on the court. Ehsan changed it up, but didn't evolve quickly enough, then he had the talent drop, which at that point, your system doesn't matter anymore.

The thing with Haase and Ehsan is that they both had above-average three-point shooters, but we just didn't run enough sets designed to get guys open on the perimeter. It's crazy to think that Robert Brown never averaged more than 14 pts a game, but was the leading scorer both seasons.

AK let the land shark take 400 threes in a season, so I'm guessing this won't be an issue.

Ehsan was too busy having his sub 30% 3pt shooting bigs standing out there rightfully unguarded to have them set screens for actual shooters or have them occupying defenders down low.

Gordon played high school this past year in Montgomery. Jeffries played at a prep school and graduated in December. In theory he could have played this year starting in January.

I can replace Jude. I can show up out of shape and never get into games too.
