Very poor job -as usual - by Al.com folks. They really need a capable beat writer, which they haven't had since Drew left. [/b]

maybe everything is quiet ,, maybe the interview of 5 candidates is quiet and maybe they are waiting for the number 1 to said yes

I don;t want to hear anything until Mark Ingram stands at a podium introducing the next coach. I prefer to stay out of the process. This is a very important hire for our AD as well.

Maybe Dudley knows the decision was made weeks ago.

If so, he should have reported that fact. I guess my point is the job of a beat writer is to report the steps of a coaching search. I'm sure many people are interested in what's happening.

My guess is that they took a run at Andy, and things are on hold until he responds.

My guess is that it’s kind of a rough time to be asking people to pony up 50-100k to help pay for the buyout we just committed to as well as pay for the type of salaries that we’re being discussed two weeks ago.

We have some boosters with deep pockets, but I don’t think we have the kind of boosters with pockets deep enough to be saying “sure, her’s another quarter million “ at a time where their net worths have probably dropped by a similar amount since the decision to fire Ehsan was made.

By usual procedure, formally hiring coaches is done after championship games are played. Normally the end of the BB season is the last day of the NCAA Tournament, but this season ended in an unusual and abrupt manner. Is UAB AD Ingram waiting for some NCAA info about these unusual circumstances? Have any other D1 schools announced new BBHC hirings? Maybe they are all waiting for someone else to make the first hire -- or maybe Band Dad is correct and UAB is waiting for Andy's agent to give them an answer..

I know it is the AD’s choice, however, I would be interested to know the official list of potential candidates for the job.

Does anyone think us getting Kennedy is in jeopardy? All the media people seem to think that's what's happening. but it's been quiet.

Ever think that a) things at UAB may be chaotic b) things at al.com may be chaotic and c) not everyone is necessarily focused on hiring a basketball coach as we slip into a depression?

yes, we do. Just don’t have to be reminded about it every cycle as it is pertains to us. We’ve gone down that route before. It worked well both times.
