They need someone bad. Mens tennis has been disappointing the last two years.

RE: Huge Get For Men's Tennis
I'm not familiar with this term they used in the announcement:

Quote:the Owls have signed Trinity Grear of Adelphi, Maryland to a grant-in-aid to join the Owls for the 2020-21 season

Is grant-in-aid the same as a scholarship, or something different? Possibly related to the Rice Investment?

From a performance standpoint, Trinity looks like a good addition. His UTR is 12.28, which puts him in competition for the starting lineup as a freshman. And he should continue to improve as he matures. Here's how he'd fit in with the the top 6 starters today:
  • Sumit Sarkar: 13.44
  • Karol Paluch: 12.69
  • Campbell Salmon: 12.66
  • Trinity Grear: 12.28
  • Mohamed Abdelrahim: 12.26
  • Wesley Barnett: 12.22
  • Conrad Russell: 12.20

Scholarship. Term from the 1950s and 1960s. Haven't heard it used in a long time.

If the University of Arizona is up to date, it's the term still used in the NCAA bylaws.

I think that is correct. But the general public has just adopted the term scholarship.
