Imagine this season had gone EXACTLY as Tiger fans had thought it would. Right now we'd be a lock for a one seed. We'd be one of the most talented teams in a season of wild movement and no clear elite team. Probably have the number 1 pick on our team along with a lottery pick in Precious. Everybody ready to travel this spring to see Tigers play and get back to Final Four. Life is good...then they cancel the tournament. How "Memphis" would that kind of ending be...haha

As a lifelong fan of the Montreal Expos, the best team in baseball in 1994, I would expect nothing less.

Yeah, I still don't think I've ever recovered in my "fandom" from that. Think I'll never be able to care as much as I did then because it crushed me.

Games were played in that tournament even that heartbreak of a game. Here in this scenario it’s being snatched from you suddenly in the most bizarre way

You don't think it would have been worse if the tournament was cancelled? I do. Crushing heartbreak with no tournament versus crushing heartbreak with a Final Four and playing in the NC game AND seeing that team play 6 more games? Not experiencing Michigan State, Texas and UCLA; easily the greatest 3 consecutive games in our history?

Easily, not playing the tournament would have been much worse.

I was thinking this EXACT same thing yesterday!! We have been so close a few times and if this season had played out the way we all had initially hoped, if the NCAA tournament was canceled and we didn't get the chance to show that we were true contenders and possibly playing for a Naty, we as fans would have felt cheated, because we are Memphis, we're like the really old James Brown song, 'I don't want nobody, to give me nothing, open up the door and I'll get it myself." The last thing we would want is another astrick by our name possibly saying awarded the title by committee, we prefer to earn it.

Desmond Merriwether, Coach Bartow, Coach Kirk, Larry, The Big Cat, and a few others worked overtime to ensure this scenario was avoided.

Seriously the luckiest team around (if there is such a thing) is Georgia Tech that self imposed a NCAA Tourney ban a couple of weeks ago to close an NCAA investigation. Wonder if they'll roll it to 20-21? This morning the pressure on the NCAA to cancel March Madness is increasing. We'll see how long they hold out.

Just saw the Big 10, ACC and SEC cancelled the remainder of their tournaments. Pressure.

Now the NCAA might be cancelling the tournament all together and losing millions, karma?

The money goes to the teams, that is not the definition of Karma the way you used it.

Studying for a test, prepared for a test and getting a good grade is Karma.

Being mean to a friend, being a bully, not paying your car not and getting a bad grade is not Karma.
