I will not be heading to Columbus to cheer on Brecksville, Elyria and Wadsworth. Luckily that’s a one tank trip so no reservations.

Craft beers and CBSSN would be far from mediocre or average...regardless of whose left standing Friday and Saturday

In a year that was this competitive with no clear cut #1 I'd be pretty salty to see Akron get a bid because the tourney is cancelled.

A bid to what tournament? That may be the bigger problem.

The MAC website just announced restricted crowd. Team, TV personnel and parents basically. Get ready to watch on TV

The statement from the conference is at this link. (I can't post it because it was a tweet.)

The tourney will now resemble a MAC football stadium on any given November weeknight.

Ironically I am watching Eric Haut and his Northern Kentucky friends playing in front of a crowd in Indianapolis. Not all that far away.

Absolute crap.
Twenty thousand dead from the flu this year and nobody gave a crap. Complete overreaction.
It's as if they want panic in the streets.
Kent State Club sports team were notified by the President of the University today that they are not permitted to play AWAY GAMES until April 13.

Politicians can’t get or lose votes because of the flu. Lawyers can’t sue over a flu outbreak but if something happens because someone violates the Governors recommendation look out. The 24/7 news cycle doesn’t help either.

I also wonder if some things are being cancelled because they know attendance is way down and there trying to minimize their financial losses.
There are a lot of agendas involved.

Another thing is the economy is taking an awful hit. Just the airlines and related businesses will kill it. The quicker this goes away the better. South Korea handled it well and it’s basically over. Italy hasn’t and we might never see another Italian. They are basically all in prison.

I agree burden. At the risk of someone yelling " Ok Boomer " I think there are political agendas involved because regardless of party affiliation most of them are hyenas. They will try to one up each other in the panic department. For the cable news networks this is Super Bowl Sunday and Christmas Day combined. They live for, and feast on, situations like this.

The NCAA will probably go because of TV money even if there are no crowds. I wonder if the NIT’s etc have a chance of being played.

Blue Jackets are going to allow crowds It will be interesting to see how many show up and whether the Blue Jackets end up wishing they hadn’t. Cavs are on a two week or so road trip (ironically due to the MAC tournament). They get to wait before they decide.

RE: 2020 Mid - American Conference Tournament
I wanted to mention something about the game last night quickly. I thought it looked like we had a very strong game plan to handle the zone. A couple things I noticed us doing a lot of were 1) trying to get the ball to the elbow then hit someone cutting from the corner to the basket. Seemed like Beck was particularly effective in this role. There were several times where we didn't execute it perfectly and didn't end up getting the shot. But the fact that the ball had already passed through the paint started the zone getting behind and scrambling to catch up. The other thing 2) was making passes to the man in the corner while a wing man was between the man and the guy in the corner. So instead of swinging it around the perimeter they basically skipped a guy on the arc and went straight to the corner. Again this wasn't always successful. A couple times EMU picked off the pass. But what this did was make the EMU guy in that area unsure what passing lane to protect. So it was creating more space for the the man outside the arc. Also when the pass was successful it meant the whole zone had to make a large shift which again helped to get them behind in rotation. The way you beat a zone is by getting ahead of their rotation.

Morale of the story, I thought that was a well planned and well executed attack. I was very worried that not having our longest perimeter player would be a real problem against the zone but it was definitely not.

RE: 2020 Mid - American Conference Tournament
I wouldn't be surprised if NIT and WNIT were canceled.

I really don't think it's political. Over the weekend, I read, "The people who are most concerned are the people who know the most" -- the infectious disease experts.

You know, we may never know if all this was necessary. If there is no major outbreak, is it because all the precautions worked? Or because there never was a problem to start with.

Oh...

And if anyone still cares about the game itself, there's what I think is a pretty good preview on the blog at http://wbbFlashes.com.
