RE: @Elon
Elon won 75-70. Wynter (23 points and 6 assists) and Okros (13 points) shot well. Walton shot okay and had 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Butler had 11 points and 12 rebounds, but shot 4-10. With 13:28 left, the teams combined to shoot threes better than free throws. You made 8 of your first 12 threes before finishing 9-17 (.529), which is better than you shot twos. Elon made half of their threes at 12-24 and under half of their twos. Marcus Sheffield II led Elon with 24 points and 4 assists. Hunter McIntosh had 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. He shot 4-12 including threes 2-5, which means he shot twos 2-7, and he shot free throws 8-8. Hunter Woods had 14 points and 7 rebounds. Kris Wooten scored 9 by shooting 3-5, with all his attempts being threes. Seth Fuller, who had 9 points this season before yesterday, scored 6 by shooting 2-2, with both of them threes. I thought he started for Senior Day, but Elon said he played 2 games as a freshman before getting an injury redshirt and says he's a redshirt junior. If he returns, graduate transfer Sheffield II is Elon's only senior or graduate student. Fuller scored at least 6 against a Division I team for the first time in almost two years. He scored 8 in a 72-57 loss at Delaware on February 17, 2018. Field goal and free throw attempts were close. You had 7 more rebounds and 4 more turnovers.
You're 1 game behind Northeastern to avoid the First Round. You're 2.5 games behind Charleston in fifth. You got blown out at Northeastern, so the best you can do is a split. You need to beat Northeastern to have a chance at passing them. If you do the same as them on Thursday and beat them on Saturday, it will be hard for you because at UNCW and Charleston is a harder final week than Northeastern hosting JMU and Towson. If you win both and Northeastern loses both, you will end next week 1 game ahead with a head-to-head split. You would be 1-1 against Hofstra, Delaware, and W&M; while Northeastern would be 0-2 against all of them. The only way you could lose the tiebreaker to Northeastern in that case would be if Charleston ties for first, and they're 2.5 games behind Hofstra. If you win both next week, Northeastern loses both next week, Hofstra wins at Delaware, Charleston loses at UNCW, and you win at UNCW, you will clinch a bye before ending at Charleston. In the unlikely event that Northeastern wins at Delaware and loses hosting JMU, you will also clinch a bye before ending at Charleston.
